Also super happy to see grant stone getting love. They make incredibly quality shoes and very competitive prices.

For those reading the comments right now. Yanko makes an incredible shoe for under 250 and they make dressier shoes. They make g fitting shoes and from my experience they are extremely comfortable. Also, cheaper still Florsheim also makes EEE fitting shoes. I offer these options to those that are expermenting with goodyear welts and dont mind sacrificing leather quality.

There is a brand called Fittville that offers great options for wide sneakers that don’t look like Velcro Dr.Scholls shoes. Check them out. I have a mid/high top pair I use when I work out.

Thank you so much for this insightful guide! As someone who wears 3e width shoes, this was very much appreciated. For a couple of years i have only purchased AE (seconds or off Ebay) and vintage Florsheim Imperials because they were the only ones to have my width available. Now I know to check out Grant stone. I'd prefer American made but the full price tag is often prohibitive for such luxuries.

How do you know if a shoe tree is pulling leather where it shouldn't? Do you just mean inserting and removing the shoe tree is too tight and challenging to get out?

Also a warning make sure the store you are going to have wide sizes in stock. The first AE store I went to didn't have E sizes in stock (i didn't know at the time) and even after being measured they insisted on me getting a D width when I told them it appears I'm a E and also my old shoes were E width. The salesman said they would stretch. If they say this run! When I realized it wouldn't stretch and I was miserable after wearing it for a few hours I called AE as the store wouldn't help and they told me that store doesn't have any E Widths in stock at all!
@MrDudewiththeshoes4 жыл бұрын
AE salesman are the worst. I think they're commission based and don't care for customer experience. Ive been straight up ignored and more often they are short with me because I dont fit the profile they like to sell to i guess? All horrible experiences with AE salesman.

@@MrDudewiththeshoes I didn't fit the profile either and was ignored until I went to the counter. The best experience I had was the AE store in Manhattan next to Brooks Brothers they were all female staff and actually said hello and knew what they were talking about. They didn't have the strands in walnut in e width with Dainite only leather sole so they had the order placed and free 2 day shipping.

Ouch! Never buy a shoe with the possibility of stretching. A shoe shoe should fit the foot not the foot to fit the shoe.

If you order custom rather than ready-to-wear, many of the shoes from TLB Mallorca are available in an 'H' width. And companies like iTailor and Soulle Signature will ask for your specific foot measurements before making your shoes.
