I'm from the Netherlands, I love this product. You can shower with half the amound of water, and stille have a great shower experience.

But one down side I spotted is that you need a higher temperature mixer setting for the same temperature on your body. I guess this is because the water is aerated so much as it leaves the shower head.

It's mind blowing if you have a system that can feed it with it's required 9 L/m (or more if you remove the flow restrictor in the base). Luckily I do and I love it - just don't expect to plug it onto an electric shower or low-pressure gravity fed shower & expect it to transform your showering experience. Mains-pressure systems are what this is designed for and it's amazing on the right system.

id like to see one after being used for 12 months in a hard water area. I feel it would be more prone to clogging that a cheap plastic and rubber head. The other problem is with it being chrome, descaling it in vinegar would also corrode the chrome

Hi Carpii, here at Methven HQ we test, test, test and when we think we've finished, we test some more. :-) We have had countless test subjects using our products all over the world. I myself have been using the Aio handset for over 3 years, and although i'm in a standard hard water area i have had no issues with any clogging up. My colleagues in the South also have the same handsets and they too have seen no issues. We dont advise cleaning any handsets using cleaning solutions or vinegar, just some warm soapy water. Hi Rhys, If anything it covers a larger area. We class it as Ultra-Wide-Coverage. A full-bodied spray and all-over warmth and maximum body contact. with 20% more spray force and 2x the amount of skin coverage than a standard conventional shower it will be the best purchase you'll make this year. :-)

How easy is it to clean out. Iv got a showery shower head which i was impressed with and so easy to clean out, just twist the face of the head off and run under the tap. I found small grit the block jets in time. Showery head is ideal check it out

Hi, So long as you have a hose gauze, there should be no issues. However we'd always recommend that the head is cleaned regularly to ensure that is build-up of limescale.

Where the water comes out, does it have rubber nozzles (like most other shower heads these days), which allow you to easily rub the limescale off, which often blocks the nozzles over time?....

I've had it ages and it's not been a problem. The thing is rubbing off the shower head is the wrong way to clean a shower head! They need soaking in either white vinegar or diluted Viakal (or similar) so you dissolve the scale. Rubbing just damages the rubber waterways over time!

plumberparts I been rubbing my rubber bits for about 12 years now and they are not damaged at all on a Grohe shower head... I think they are designed from a rubber that is meant to be rubbed.... I agree that vinegar/acid can also be used to dissolve the limescale, but I prefer a chemical-free approach wherever possible....

Kilrock is my go to for limescale although I did manage to take the chrome off a cheap chinese franke clone tap by using it neat. Also don't leave it in your toilet for days as I think it damages the glaze and makes the limescale worse. Now do limescale magnets work?

Can this shower head be used with an electric shower? I only ask because someone frowned on a shower head I was using (not this one by the way) saying it may have contributed to my shower breaking down (I'm no expert it was something to do with water pressure within the unit because the showerhead slowed the water in an attempt to mimic a power shower) or something like that! So now I only use bog standard shower heads in fear

Not well no, sorry. It needs at least 1.0 bar and a gravity-fed shower is unlikely to give you that. 1 bar is over 30 feet of head, so unless your water tank is 30 feet above your shower it'll be a disappointment & waste of money - you'll need a shower pump or pressurized system.

Just found this post after looking at this shower in a showroom. My daughter has ridiculously thick, long hair and it takes forever to rinse the shampoo out. Can anyone tell me how efficient this shower head is in this situation? Is the water flow too gentle to rinse thick hair well?

I don’t think there’s any replacement for more water. Take the water saver out of your shower head if you’re able. Another good thing to remember is the bigger the shower head, the less water pressure you will get. Bigger looks cooler but they’re very inefficient. You need to double your showering time just to get rid of the soap etc. I’d say stay away from the “premium” brands and garbage products a home designer would recommend. Vast majority of plumbers would tell you to go with Moen. Trustworthy brand, best warranty, different tiers of products but all are great quality and go along with anything.. contemporary, modern, classic, you name it. This shower head may be worth a shot if you’re so inclined. This guy really does a great job and makes some killer videos. My two cents is just to go with Moen lol. Not Delta or anything else

NOTHING and I mean NOTHING works as good or strong as those old shower heads like the kind that used to be in my grandma's condo in Florida. That shower was so good, I never wanted to get out of it and it would rinse the shampoo out of my long hair within seconds, it seemed. I have not been able to find a shower head like that ever since. When you'd turn the water on in the bathtub even before turning the shower thing on, it would jet out like Niagara Falls. My apartment has those low water things installed, that way you don't waste a lot of water. I have bought many varieties of shower heads just to test them out and have not been able to find one that is as strong as grandma's place! :0

It wasn't my money so I'm not complaining but for $500 I'd expect a slightly sturdier feeling rail and the mount system dosnt feel well made this actually made me ask why we got such a cheap one then I found out what it cost ! It is a nice shower experience and if you hold it just the right distance away it is like a back massage. Hard to agree that its a good investment for saving money when you can get equally low water consuming heads for $30 some even with enough change from $30 to get a snag or 2 on your way out supporting what ever charity is running the bunnos BBQ
