Nope. It’s cheaper to take a cruise ship in gas alone. 220 miles from Miami using ethanol free, just there and back will set you back $800. If I took a 12 year interest free loan out on this boat it’d run me $1600 a month. I’m 26 man, I’ve got no use for a boat that go to the Bahamas

@@wardhively9594 $1600 a month for 12 years, interest free…. that really puts it in perspective. My 2400 square foot brick home I busted my ass for cost me $1400 a month. It’s crazy to think people pay more monthly for a boat than I do for my home. I’m going to get an old aluminum bass boat soon, gut it, fix up the motor and do some custom decks inside. Probably will have about $8k into it all said and done.

Different strokes for different folks for a new boat of that length with twin 300s very hard to beat the price. Excellent performance 65 nice. I have a 302 Scarab center console twin 250's tops out at 50 also 9'6 width

It “burns” 1.7 mpg? It may get 1.7 mpg at cruise, it would be burning a little more than a half gallon (.59) per mile, or around 23 gallons/hr at 40mph cruise. That’s very respectable for this size at that speed. (Maybe over 2mpg at 30?)Either light weight materials, efficient hull, or both! You are right, 28-32 ft segment is perfect for South Florida seas, average 2-3 foot chop and short wavelength, a 30’ runs right across it! Nice looking boat!

This length was top of the line for me growing up in South Louisiana. Twin engine Scarab or Contenders were the boat's all the guides had mainly and we spent the night out there (slept on blow up pool floats lol) on them brought barrels of extra fuel and and ham sandwiches and oh yeah our toilets were 5 gallon buckets. We caught yellowfin wahoo yellow dolphin and every now and then a blue/black Marlin. Personally been out offshore over 150 times and I never caught a Blue Marlin it was like a curse or something 🥺

I agree it’s a lot of money for what you’re getting. Boat prices are nuts right now. But you can’t tell me fighting amberjack, grouper, tuna, wahoo, kingfish, or billfish doesn’t get the adrenaline pumping. That’s all the speed is for. To get to the adrenaline source, ie fishing grounds, faster. This is a pretty economical option, at least if buying new too. You need twin engines to go far offshore. And you need some decent length to not get destroyed by swell. This is about the bottom level of fitting those needs. You can buy a used boat for between a 1/2 and a 1/4 of the price that will do 95% of the same things. But it’s the same as racing. People will pay crazy money for marginal increases.
