I just wanna come here and say something from my heart. I love this channel. I love it like a lot. for some people its a you tube channel, for me its a religious act. I watch it every single day and not because I have no life (I do have no life) but because It means a lot to me as a person and as someone who personally identifies as a skater4lyfe. I've mentioned to m friends before that I am super inspired to start my own channel and that alone has been brewing for months now (before that I was simply an avid watcher) I am ready to pickup a cheap camera and just start filming. So thank you. It's because of this channel and one other (the other channel is not a skateboarding channel). I'm not setting out to create the best content anyone has ever witnessed but I am confident that I can come up with interesting ideas for videos. Dan, your attitude alone has helped me make this decision. I have been seeking my dreams for too long. It's time to reach for the sky. This is the comment I hope to come back to in the future to look back on with sincere gratitude, Cheers all.

Crazy the timing of this upload, I'm literally in the middle researching Flight decks seeing what all the hype is while trying make a decision on my first deck upon returning to skating. Been watching every upload for a year or two now and I assumed this was an old upload I missed/forgot, upon first glance. The alignment alone is telling me that I gotta do it. This upload and years of "Should've been a Flight deck" got Powel at least one new customer today. Also your strength through recent developments has really inspired me. I have a horrible phobia of all things medical infostructure, probably stemming from watching my dad deteriorate in Hospitals my whole life up until he passed about three years ago. I'm may not have the swiftest follow through, but seeing you take this in such stride has really opened my mind to the idea of being more proactive about my health. Skating again is actually my first small step in trying to be healthier, so it's like a double spear head attack of inspiration put into effect by you. Thank you for everything you do, Dan, I hope you're doing well.

I’ve been both thinking about getting one of these flight decks, AND wondering if anyone was ever going to have a slightly “spooned”/concaved nose and tail. You sold me on one of these with this vid! I just wish there was a visual comparison video of all the different shapes, similar to how Andy Anderson did a video showing and explaining all of his different deck shapes. Huge help to be able to see decks in a video rather than just the limited pics on the website. It’s nice to have an exact image of both the amount of concave and actual shapes of the nose and tail. Love what you’re doing for the skate community with all of your videos and explanations! 🤙

bah! So good to see you back on the board and no worse for wear by the looks of it. Just don't underestimate the power of an impeccable diet for erasing any and all weird and difficult symptoms, even panic attacks or symptoms of any disease. That means you should work hard to avoid sugar (especially high fructose corn syrup), most sodas, candy, heat treated seed oils and all processed foods in general which are technically poisonous, pernicious and destructive to all organ systems, side effects being different for everybody. Eat whole foods and whole foods only and if you stick to it, which is extremely difficult, you will see results very quickly (weeks). good luck

The almost/dwindle/dsm impact decks are/were sick. I had a double impact for ten years and never broke it, though I slid through several plies in places. They are 7 plies maple and fiber/resin bits. Didn’t have much issue with fiber splinters, and they were only about ten or fifteen dollars more than a regular board. I loved how stiff they were without being too stiff and kept their pop. I’m 6’3 and 210ish down from 245. I would’ve bought 3 of them if I knew how good they were

I recently switched from the purple 244 shape (8.5 wide with 14.375 wb) to the new 243W shape (8.38 with 14.25 wb). This to me is the perfect combination of old guy street and transition board. One thing I noticed a lot about this shape switch flip tricks flip a little better for me with the new nose shape since I pop switch off the nose. I also like the short fingers of flat (big motivator for trying the shape) because of steeper kick feel and the get in/get out feel of grinds and slides. The shape reminds me a lot of the Real 8.38 SE shape which I like a lot (regular one that is more tapered with a 14.25 wb, not the full SE). Nice to see Powell bringing back a little bit of concave in the nose and tail too. That was one of my favorite things about Powell boards in the 90s because it always made the nose and tail feel very secure when floating through the air between the pop and the slide.

Thanks for bringing up LibTech. I was starting to think I’m one of the few who remembers those boards. Maybe it was more of a north east thing in 01’ because you can’t even find stuff on google about it. Kinda like the Baker New Wave, Element Featherlight. I’m sure there was more who tried to make a longer lasting board and pop back then

Best for me is the Girl/Chocolate Pop Secret decks. The carbon fiber layer is on the top, so you're still popping off wood, so it just feels like skating a really crispy normal board that just happens to never break.

I've had two flight decks. My first one cracked, but it retained its pop perfectly. It was amazing. My second one delaminated and exploded into a million pieces on the kickflip side of the nose (regular). Within a year of mild skating. Maybe 3-4 times a month. The weave on the inside was sticking out and I really was concerned about getting fiber slivers from it. It was basically unskateable anyway. Not saying I'll never have a flight board, but I've switched to the kevin harris board, not of my own volition, its just what ultimate distribution had for me. I like it a lot though. I wanted another flight deck.
