The very very best year for music ,I wss ten in 1967 and i loved hearing all those songs .we were spoiled because we had a constant supply of the really really good music.I thought it would last forever but it just got worse, thank God they are recorded and we can enjoy and still feel the mood and excitement of 1967 especially.

St Peppers came out in 1967 and that changed everything. I was 7 in 1967 and my big sister took me to the record store and I bought my 1st 45 it was all you need is love and Baby you're a rich man.. Hendrix, Stones and the Doors were all amazing..The Beach boys had released Pet sounds and almost disbanded when Sg Peppers came out..lol The worst song of 67 is a million times better than any music in the last 15 years..ha ha

The sixties in general, and this year in particular, provided an amazing "explosion" and selection of different creative sounds and songs! 2023 and you have to feel sorry for the current modern wannabe pop stars, because whatever music they attempt to create nowadays, has already been done before, it is what it is! It's tough, or just a lot harder, to be truly original anymore!

I can only agree with half of the songs offered, there were so many other great bands in the years from 1964 to 1970, e.g. the Animals, Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich, the Move, the Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, just to name a few, and the other bands like the Stones, Beatles, Doors, Who, Mamas and Papas e.g. had more hits in 1967 as mentioned here. There4 my Top 100 would look different.

Sorta a weird list. Many of these songs did not appear in the SF Bay Area. And, by spring of '67, we had KMPX (the first underground station...much needed for those long Oswley nights). During this strange brew. I somehow managed to graduate from high school...or, so, they tell me.

A big year for some of my favorite groups, like The Buckinghams. Three songs in the count. Tremeloes had a couple, so did The Seekers and The Hollies, as did The Doors; even that band from Liverpool had a few in the mix. We even had the Pre-Fab 4! R&B was cookin', Motown was at its best, and bubblegum was finding its legs. And it was fun to see Petula, Frank and Nancy, and Tom Jones and Engelbert. We even saw that flash-in-the-pan Rolling Stone group. Wonder what ever happened to them!

Such great memories of when I was 15. There were a small number songs that I had never heard but that doesn't surprise me. In the days before radio stations in Australia al syndicated together quite often there were songs that were popular in the southern states that didn't get air play here in Brisbane, so it isn't surprising that while most of the songs got air time here, there were some that never made it over the border or from overseas.

Thank you for the props. Having lived this era, worked in radio/communications in this era, the back seat stories and tales I could tell you. I like your large sample size of the blends. Some not my bale, but I recall having to play them. You read that right. Its the obscure, B sides that turn out better than the highlighted single, is what I researched. I can furnish you with nuggets, two inches of dust, tunes that even the V loggers here and now, do not have. It was a glorious time. Please continue this work. People like myself won't be around to give input much longer. And if people like you fail to keep this era alive and well, then when we go, the music follows. Don McLean may have been onto something.

I can remember a lot of things from 1967, and there was a lot of fear-the war, rioting, unwanted heat waves, but I realized 1967 was still a personal favorite of a year...aside from puberty...and an unwanted neurological disorder that doctors milked my parents over, but never identified. But the music had a nice mix of various style. So, I think it was a highlight for rock and Roll. And, yes, I might be the last guy who adored "bubble gum music". it was good to see at least 2-3 Neil Diamond songs, 2-3 Monkees songs, and even Lulu singing a couple, including 1 of Neil Diamond's. The Rascals always had cool songs...and, of course the various titans of the era also had their share of hits. AND, 1967 had "the Impossible Dream", the Packers nearing the end of their heydays under Vince Lombardi, "E-ticket rides" at Disneyland/Walt Disney, Knott's berry farms before their 'Magic Mtn.' expansion-like riding the Stagecoach and eating Boysenberry pie, Indian Guides (including my reluctant-as a father-dad), and the best teacher of my life the best teacher of my life (1967-'68). Yet, knowing what lay ahead would probably send me back to present day. Remembering assassinations, more heat waves and unbreathable air and a disorder that left me wishing for death...desiring women I'd never be able to go out with and being stuffed full of drugs that my family hatted hippies for taking...being unconscious by 5 o'clock-meaning homework had to be done at school. Ok, forget it. Allow me to let the music deliver the fond memories and just forget the rest. Note: i would later write a few songs of my own that helped me recapture-for a moment-the good memories. Everyone has them inside of them. I was able to produce mine and get a moments satisfaction. Note: I truly do respect those folks who were able to create such wonderful entertainment...it's harder than it looks!

Everything seemed so fresh and original. Funny, it was Sonny and Cher back then.

Great list. Biggest issue is those 2 Jefferson Airplane songs at the bottom should’ve been at least in the top 25.

About a dozen of those I've never heard of before, a number of them, I never heard of until about 35 years ago! I was 10 in `67 and had about 300 records, by then. I'm up to over 62,000, now.

There were 50 incredible songs from 1967 that EACH are massively better than the "best song" in the last decade (slim pickings!)

This was quite the time to turn 12 and own a transistor radio. Truth to tell I only tuned in here to see the hot-pants girl on the cover but she never showed up :( Have to wait till 1971

Wow, theres so many of these bands Ive never heard of. Only the popular ones and their songs. Love 1967 , we got *The Beatles Sgt Peppers, and Magical Mystery Tour,* and of course their hit singles _"Hello Goodbye"/ I Am the Walrus", " All You Need is Love", /"Baby your a Rich Man", " Penny Lane"/ Strawberry Fields Forever_ " Have to say, The Beatles ruled 1967, well, just about the entire decade..💖💖☮☮ 🚶‍♂🚶‍♂🚶‍♂🚶‍♂
