I have both of those Stephen Bishop lps... He's a great song writer and singer. My tastes run from a to z when it comes to rock and pop,,, and as I get older I gravitate to listening to to the softer stuff more.

Little Italy, my fave track on Careless. When Chaka Khan comes in ,it's fantastic

I also love this lp and song but wish she wasn’t on it. Not a fan of her voice but the song is simply amazing

Funny you should post this. I’ve been diving back into soft 1970’s sound as well, Firefall, Pablo Cruise, etc. not sure if you have any Chris Rea, but his first record is great, “Whatever Happened to Benny Santini”

Artists like Stephen are what I think of as guilty pleasures. Christopher Cross and Air Supply are two of mine. Their music was everywhere back in the day. When it pops up now I can do a deep dive obsession with an album. It’s weird how it sits in the brain. I love their music and it puts me in a very nice space and yet they don’t cross over into artists I’d say are in my top 10…and in a bizarre way they should be! Thanks Tim. I’m going to listen to Air Supply now. 👍

Picked up Christoper Cross self titled album last month at Goodwill for $1.00 and both the vinyl and jacket were in pretty good condition, played great

Right on Tim...I have a SB album called Bowling in Paris which I've had in collection but never listened to. Finally, however, I gave it a listen and was completely floored!! From beginning to end, every song, a winner!! Since then, this album has grown on me and always puts me in a good mood upon listening...love the fun, catchy tunes but the guy also writes nice heartfelt melodies too...if you see this one in the wild grab it!!

Thanks Tim. I have this album on vinyl and agree with you. It sounds great. I am Stephen Bishop fan since I bought Careless when I was 15 years old. Since then I have been following him. He came back in 1982 with the wonderful song It Might Be you from the Dave Grusin soundtrack for Dustin Hoffman's Tootsie. Then he wrote Separate Lives for the movie White Nights with Phil Collins on vocals. The song was nominated for Oscar's in 1986. Phil Collins was not able to go to the ceremony and Stephen sang in the ceremony....People was asking who is he? :) Then a few years and albums later came Bowling in Paris which is my favorite album and includes many of my music heroes as guest artists including Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Sting. All of them are very close friends of Stephen. Stephen does backing vocals in Face Value in the song This must be love. Phil did vocals and drums in Bowling in Paris. And then came Phil Collins ... But Seriously....Phil invited 4 amazing musicians....Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, David Crosby....and....STEPHEN BISHOP! Phil composed and arranged a song for each of them and each song sounds like a song of the guest. I wish it would rain down sounds very much a Clapton song and Eric Clapton plays the guitar on that song. All of My Life sounds 100% a Steve Winwood song. Steve Winwood does vocals and plays keyboards on the song....and of course...the wonderful Do You Remember with STEPHEN BISHOP on vocals sounds like a Stephen Bishop song! After Bowling in Paris, which sounds fantastic on vinyl, Stephen Bishop has released more the 5 albums. Blue Guitars, Be Here Then, Blueprint are really good albums. Unfortunately these albums are not available on vinyl. The last one from 2019 We'll Talk About Later in the Car is available on vinyl.

Great pick, Tim! It’s funny how Stephen’s records pretty much get treated like Belushi treated his guitar in Animal House. “Sorry” he said. 😂 There’s a good chance I come across some SB where I’m digging these days. I’d love to find a nice copy of Bish! It sounds beautiful. ✌🏽

Not only is Bosh great but his first lp Charles’s is an absolute classic of 1970s AM gold. So underrated and under valued.

I think Stephen Bishop is great. He has a great voice and I think he's highly underrated. My favorite song is You'll Always be my Heart and Soul it's from a very underrated movie Called Heart and Souls With Robert Downey Junior if you haven't seen it or heard the song , please check it out.

This is so weird. The day after watching this video I went to the local Salvation Army and saw this record. Just the jacket, no vinyl.
