Very nice! It seems that Dynamix was planning to make Space Quest 5 as a Talkie CD, but due to some internal problems and financing troubles the project was scrapped.

I was under the impression there was some amateur fan voice acting of the game in development, although it's been a while. Personally, the real Talkie version of SQV is the Game Grumps playthrough. Felt both Dan and Arin managed to give most of the characters not just fitting voices but well acted ones as well, elevating the text only adventure. If they could have been roped into voicing the game fully that'd be my dream scenario.

Great stuff! I was always disappointed as a kid that they didn't have Gary Owens in SQ5, it made it seem like Sierra didn't care about that entry as much as SQ4 and SQ6. Normally I'm not a big fan of having voices in adventure games as they're often just annoying (eg. I much prefer Monkey Island 1 and 2 with no voices), but Gary Owens was one of the rare examples where the voice over made the game even funnier.

Debatable. I mean the fact that it's the best SQ, not whether it has voices :P Some people prefer IV. I do agree with you in that I think V is peak for this saga though.

I am honestly a bit confused about what makes you consider AI wrong versus what makes you consider it "a gift to the adventure game community". Maybe some people wouldn’t mind having their voice emulated without consent, but I’m not sure about the legality or ethics of doing that, especially when it involves a deceased actor. Not trying to start an argument, I'd just like to understand your perspective on this.
