the plastic washer goes under the ssd not on top. you need the screw to make contact with the grounding pad.
@kamzu8165Ай бұрын
Doesn't the otherside have the same metalic grounding piece? I think he installed it correctly, the washer prevents over tightening and damaging the PCB.

I think you are wrong , you won't achieve higher speeds with a higher tier SSD, you are limited by the interface, you would achieve higher speeds with a higher tierenclosure USB 4 or Thunderbolt. you would then achieve around 30 GBPS Datatransfer (10 GBPS of the 40 GPS is reserved for other purposes like graphics transmission) so even on a Thunderbolt you won' benefit on a faster SSD than 5000 Mbps transferspeed (so the first Gen4 NVMEs are enough). More important especially if you will work on the devices instead of just storing real DDR4 cache and high TBW and propbably don't choose the NVME by the peak value but by the value for SMALL Read and writes. If you use an TB-enclosure you achieve slightly higher speed than the internal storage (on a MBA M1), if you have a single chip storage design like the MBA M2 256GB it should be significant higher.

U left the plastic on the thermal pad I think n that could cause the ssd to get hot
@GraaviticusIII2 ай бұрын
I think you're right. I'm thinking the "do not tear off" warning was referring to the actual thermal pad and not the plastic covering.
@FIREWOLFUNBOX2 ай бұрын
To my understanding it has a graphite thermal pad, and I actually tried to remove at first (like all thermal pads I’ve seen) however, it felt like it was glued on, so I stopped and looked at the instructions and it doesn’t mention anywhere to remove any “plastic”. I looked at graphite thermal pads, and it looks just the one in this one

I’ve been using this SSD enclosure a lot with a 4TB SSD, and haven’t noticed any severe heat problems, and the built in screen really helps knowing the internal temps.

Hey great review. Thank you. Is there an enclosure like this with a battery so it can charge the device ?
@vaporwave_boi_927 күн бұрын
With this one, you can plug it into your phone or other accessories and there's a separate plug on it where you can plug so basically a pass through charger

Hey, thanks for the review, and info! Im new to this ssd enclosure for backing up files and am looking at Amazon and wondered what the ideal ssd card would be for this Chizha dockcase enclosure, do u think the samsung 990 evo m.2 ssd would be better than a 970 evo plus? ... Ive looked on Samsung's website (UK) and the 970 evo plus costs more than the 990?! If u were starting out which ssd card is best recommended for this enclosure with 2tb?...
@FIREWOLFUNBOX2 ай бұрын
honestly, the cap transfer speed of USB 3.2 is 10Gbps which translate to 1250MB/s. So I would get the most cost effective option since going 990 isn't going to benefit you as much

@@SlianoShie that 'do not tear off' refers to the thermal paste sticking to the chips, pulling the heatsink off hard can damage components or components come off, it's a liability statement....okay?

@@ceoluis777 No...The plastic film is an insulating layer, used to prevent the graphite heat sink from directly contacting the circuit, or to prevent graphite particles/debris from falling onto the motherboard.
