I love my Wright's stander. But I'm looking at 52" now without getting too much money out there. What is the best one. I'm thinking of the Wright's stander X with the vanguard engine. What are your thoughts? A 28hp engine for a 52" cut. I want to be over powered some, because you never know when you'll get a horrible lawn to cut. Please give me your thoughts!

Brian.... been following you for a while. I cut in the Northeast and bag all my properties. Toro Grandstand 52 Multiforce with power bagging system is off the charts! No need for dragging around large Green buckets to empty heavy metal grass catchers. Cut is fantastic, grass catching capacity is amazing and easy, especially if you have properties with disposal areas ( woods). I also use a Ferris 52 Z2 with a closed deck( mulching purpose).... the two machine combo is a money maker! My properties are super high end, clients love the look! Never a piece of grass in the beds! Makes the final edge work and blow off a snap! I believe I'm the only guy in my area not on a Wright! Lol! But those guys are now leaning towards the Grandtand Multiforce and Ferris. Keep up the good work my man!! Best! JP.

March will be 2 years running my ZK 52 here in south Florida where we don’t get much down time. In 29 years in business the ZK has been the best mower I ever bought.
@jeremybruce6544 жыл бұрын
I spent a lot of time taking demos and my list before I purchased my number 1 mower would be: 5) Exmark Staris 4)Toro Grandstand 3) Wright ZK (I don’t think it cuts KBG well) 2) Scag Vride2 1) Ferris Z3X Motors: 1) Vanguard 2) Kawasaki 3) Kohler Zero turns 1) Scag Turf Tiger 2) Exmark 3) Toro 4) John Deere 5) Gravely I always prefer the most HP. I am in the Midwest so this might not reflect your area. I have been in business for 5 years. If I was to start my business over I would start with a 36 inch Ferris z2 or used 60 inch Exmark since there seems to be a lot in my market. This is just my opinion. I absolutely love my Ferris Z3 with the Vanguard!

I’ve been using a 52 Toro Grandstand for 4 yrs. I can imagine a better mow or mower but I’m open. Toro centers their gas tanks but cap is on the left making it really easy to fill up. As opposed to backing mower on to match cap side to truck and other mower. Plus, deck raising handle is on right of TG making it much easier for me personally. (Right handed)

just bought a Wright Stander X with the carbed Kawa about 4 weeks ago, I LOVE this machine!!! Cutting is spotty in certain scenarios for me... Like when theres a tall patch sticking up in an otherwise barren area (early spring mowing), it seems to just half cut it and push it down versus a nice clean cut... have to reverse back over it. Aside from that, I'm in love!
@bryanyarbrough66354 жыл бұрын
I bought a Ferris Z3x with the 37 vanguard with oil cooler. That thing is a beast. It actually cut better than my Exmark zero turn and stripes twice as good. As far as cut when wet it does a better job than my Exmark did. Exmark clumps and the Ferris does not and the wider discharge spreads all the grass out. It is built like a tank. My Exmark had a lot of plastic on it this thing is all metal.

One good thing about the GIE Expo is, if your in the market for new equipment and uncertain on what to buy, you can demo all brands. We end up going with the Bad Boy 48" Revolt, the verdict is still out for us, but it does go through some fuel.
@austinbales91684 жыл бұрын
I have a 2019 bad boy revolt 48” and I’ve put about 90 hours on it so far. I really love where the controls are and how well it handles but it has some issues that bug me. As soon as I purchased the mower it had a sticky drive lever to where it wouldn’t start without fiddle with them and finding the “magic spot” and if you were on flat ground and released both levers it would drive in circles on its own. And It has a oddly small fuel tank that like >5 gallons. And the platform that you stand on has a single spring/shock in the middle that wears out extremely quick. And I’m only 15, and weigh about 150 pounds so I don’t understand that part. And it’s a little pricey in my opinion considering, I payed just over 9k and was already experiencing issues whenever they loaded it onto my trailer, but I still consider it a pretty good mower that would probably make top 10

Ferris on top for the 37 hp Vanguard with the oil guard system, and for the front axle suspension to soften the ride. Cut is great also with the well respected ICD deck..

I don’t get it. Wright from what I have seen doesn’t cut KBG well. It is more comparable to Gravely cut. I have a Gravely but run Exmark Hi Lift blades and that improves the quality to a B in my opinion. Ferris, Exmark, and Scag for KGB in my opinion. They all have there own qualities but Scag for cut slightly.

I got the wright zk 52 inch with the 37 hp. Its has to be the best mower its a beast, the mower really dont need that big motor but its nice to have it. Its a little loud but we need to use ear plugs anyways. They put that motor on the 72 inch and to have it on the 52 inch is awesome and i like it came stock with the striping kit and just built tough.

I started with a Wright stander B 32. ran that for a year then I added a standard X 52. While the 52 is my daily machine that 32 is a beast. I don’t know why they say it’s hard on belts I have only had to change my belt 1 time on my 32. My 52 is on its 3rd set. My stander B for beast that is my work horse I added mulch kits to both and modified the fossil so that I can still open it. The kowasoki motor with 200 hr oil changes is great wish my 52 was the same. Also on the 32 I put wider tires on had to flip the rim but fit perfect. I also doubled up my blades

We have four of the ferris Z2 and two of them have had transmission problems before 600 hours or so.... like we needed a whole new transmission kind of problem and transmission fluid all over the yard. Just last week I learned that Ferris is now using much larger transmissions on the new models but yet there is no recall on the Transmissions from the older models. I would personally be much happier if they would use hydraulic wheel Motors instead of the hydro trans. The ferris deck height numbering is a little screwy the way they have it. The ferris mower deck could use some weight on it or something so that when you hit a bump the deck doesn't slap up and down. The eyelet bolts that hold the deck on to the machine are constantly getting built up with debris in which could wear them out quick. The deck also has some kind of Steel roller that goes inside of a guide that always gets built up with the debris. I would like to see Ferris use a larger Engine with the 52 inch decks. Even though Briggs & Stratton owns Ferris I would be really happy if they take their piece of s*** Briggs & Stratton engines and throw them away or at least redesign them back the way they used to be when they were tough. All in all I still have to say that I do enjoy the ferris Mower and the way they handle and the soft ride suspension.

Love your videos man, Josh here from Maine, I rock the 2019 Ferris Z2 52”, i got the dealer to throw in a stripe kit and it lays down some beautiful lines, especially on weed free lawns. Holds hills better than any mower I’ve been on. It hasn’t bogged down on me once even when cutting 3 ft tall field grass, I am more than impressed. I think I will be getting the z3 next which has a pivoting deck which should contour the landscape even better and hold hills even better. I do wish there was a better bagging/grass catch system as the little aluminum side catch is too small for the lawns up here. You have it empty it ever 4 minutes

I run both Z3X’s (52/61”) I actually like the deck lift on the left! Use your right hand going up your gate to control the mower, and lifting deck up with the left👍 I’ve ran John Deere, Toro, Great Dane, and like that setup the best! You also get a lot more mower in the Z3X for the price. Bigger pumps, engine, tires, tank, articulating front end that really helps on comfort. Also helps on curbs, ditches, and uneven ground. Great video, and good luck this yr✌️

I currently run a 60" Yazoo Kees (now owned by Husky) and it has served me well but it's time to move on. I just demoed a Scag V Ride 61" with the Kawasaki and really liked the way it cut. I would say that it was a good demo because the blades were beat, the deck was out of adjustment and cutting 1" lower than indicated. I typically cut at 4" and since the deck was off I had to cut at 3.5" and I probably cut 2" to 2.5" of grass. Even though there were a decent amount of clippings, I felt the deck performed great with beat-up blades. I may demo the Cub Cadet stander but I think I'm sold on the Scag. My only dilemma is 25 hp Kawasaki or 29 hp Kohler EFI. My demo was a Kawasaki but I may be leaning towards Kohler even though my dealer said they prefer the Kawasaki and typically don't order or stock Kohlers. I like the idea of the 37 hp Briggs and all that hp but I don't think I trust a Briggs enough for the long haul. I'm a homeowner and typically keep a mower for 10+ years.

iCyfrostyMaCk for sure brother. I have well over 4K hrs on the latest grandstand model. Ran a machine to almost 3500 hrs. The hydros never had a problem. Won’t lie we did have to fix things here and there but nothing major. Mowing grass East of you in Ohio.

iCyfrostyMaCk brother we mow way too much and I am pretty picky. I hate when I have slackers riding with me. The young man I have now is awesome. And everyone in our area runs them. Helps to have the number 2 toro dealer in service and number 4 in sales too 😉

Hey Brain, love your channel!! You for got to mention john deer stand on! I run a wright standon and love it!! I’m getting another Wright this spring and also run 2 Toro z turns a 48” mx and a 52 titan HD !!!! Love the red and yellow👍🇺🇸

James Bedell What are your thoughts on the John Deere stand on I’m ready for a new one and that’s what I was going to buy because I run all the tracks zero turns right now and the dealers close. I remember reading an article that they were built very similar to the right standers. Don’t know how true that is to be..

Greg Lee l’ve ran deer, Z turns and loved it!!! For me would be cost! Quality, how close to dealership is and they say nothing runs better than a deer lol

Im 6'6" and I borrowed a Staris 32" from a friend and loved how it felt. Weird the bigger decks would be more awkward. Not big enough business wise to justify the purchase but luckily I'm still working out here in CA. Try pulling the "a good yard is pivotal to proper mental health for anyone OCD" if you aren't mowing. They care about that crap here, so maybe it'll fly there lmao.

I wish I could afford a stander! I'm 60 years old with a very small, solo operation and I've been pricing stand-ons but they are expensive! All I could afford was a 20 year Toro Proline walk-behind ☹

I run a Gravely stand on. I’m spoiled with the foot control for feathering the deck. However, the Scag velocity deck does a better job at cutting. Enjoy your videos

The foot feather is nice but they break more often I have a gravely wright and scag. I think he said it wright but price for quality it’s looking like SCAG this year 2 mores you get a fleet discount can’t find that with gravely or wright and just unit price is cheaper for great cut quality!

Hi Brian! As you know, I’m from Bismarck North Dakota! I run a 52 inch Exmark mower, a year ago or so, I bought a stand on 36 inch John Deere which is made by Wright! I love it, everything about it! I suppose it will be a couple weeks before I’ll be scratching in the lawns, I am kind of excited about that! Sincerely, Sam Hanson 👍😎🇺🇸

The major flaw with the Ferris is if you hit a good bump with it the deck lift will click up into transport hieght with out you noticing which is bad for employees. I’ve had guy cut yards not paying attention at 5 inches and have to redo the entire thing.

@@BriansLawnMaintenance yeah don't have one you up I'm upgrading from a walk behind mower and seeing at the multiforce at a lot of differentthought maybe that would be the way to go as it has all the attachments that I would use and have one machine as I am a small business like you but do a variety of different things
@jbplays73024 жыл бұрын
I think your list is pretty close to dead on. I just haven't had the opportunity to try out the Cub or the Ferris. So I'll just have to take your word for it on those mowers. I'm running a 52" Wright ZK for my main mower, and an older 48' Scag walk behind as a back up. Trying to find a good deal on a nice used 36" Exmark turf tracer, or the equivalent in a 36" walk behind...

Brian you know we’re all Deere for good reason, but honestly after demoing several others we are still very impressed with our Quik Trak 661R. As you know it’s really a Wright built by Deere but with normal two lever hydro controls which in my opinion make all the difference. Don’t like the Wright controls. Also I’m not a fan of these new large wheel stand ons. Initially I thought they would be the way to go but after running them compared to our 661R it kills the advantage of a compact frame. I can wiggle that 661 into places a 48” sit down would be tough. For hills and slopes, the 661 is indispensable for us but regardless it is an all around excellent mower and amazing to operate.
