Another great videos. I loved your collecting of time lapses in this one. I just want to saw that it’s an inspiration to see that you and Julie still go out and adventure together. You always create time for each other, and I think a lot of people could learn from you in that respect. Looking forward to seeing where you go next!

That was really encouraging, Josh! It's kind of the third phase. Just the two of us, then always with the kids and now (with the children older), just the two of us again. We have always tried to keep our relationship strong which make these times alone all the more special.

What a great 4 day trip and look at that sun peaking over the mountains at 0.32! Not many people living at Little Switzerland but it sure looked a nice stop off, with a real nice selection of food. I always love a waterfall and that one was stunning and the one with the stairs was real cool too. Nice sunset to finish on and sorry to contradict you but 'I have the greatest wife in the world' 😂 I hope you enjoyed your second honeymoon💕. Cheers Alan

We’re full time RVers in a 36’ Super C Towing a Jeep Wrangler. Looking for campgrounds too. Got to do some studying up on the area. We have to be in Maine by May 1 to camphost at a campground near Acadia. Thanks again for your inspiration 😊🙏🇺🇸

Randy, What grand mountain views and colors, and you found a way to put that poor amphitheater to use! That Little Switzerland village looks like a place for some great food. Good tip to know about keeping track of the mileage on the parkway. My favorite was the mist on the mountains at the beginning of the video. THANK YOU FOR THE FOUR PART SERIES, . . . Mike

Thanks for sharing. I happened to be in the Day 3-4 area on these same dates last year. Unfortunately, I feel you short changed the viewers (maybe yourselves) on Day 4. Not a mention of Mount Mitchell and even it’s park with a Balsam Fir trail that is the only habitat within the US (Canadian climate is the main habitat), Pisgah, Price Lake and campground, the beautiful visitor’s center outside of Asheville, Chimney Rock, etc I’m visiting again this upcoming weekend with hopes of getting a better jumpstart on the foliage coloration.

Hi Regina, yeah, tough to see everything. We only had 4 days and each day was packed from start to finish. Some omissions might have been due to time, others I probably just missed in the research. Made a note of your locations. Like you, would really enjoy getting back... and seeing what we missed on the first run. Last year's colors were great - hope you get some great views this year too! Enjoy!

Great conclusion to a great series. You captured some real nice footage on this section with the changing foliage and the mist in the mountains. Great job with narration, the both of you! This portion of the BRP is my favorite. 1a is Mt. Mitchell to Craggy Gardens and 1b is Mt. Pisgah to Waterrock Knob. I can’t pick, so they are both number 1. You picked some great stops. I agree that Crabtree Falls is the prettiest on the whole parkway and the Graveyard Fields, which wins for coolest name, is great spot as well. As with my other comments, here are some suggestions for your consideration if you return in the future. Mt. Mitchell State Park (highest point east of the Mississippi River) is a nice destination. Craggy Gardens and Craggy Pinnacle are both short hikes with excellent payoff in the form of views. Black Balsam Knob area is good. Awesome swimming hole at Skinny Dip Falls. If you walk to Waterrock Knob and then continue onto Browning Knob, there is an old plane wreck. Pisgah National Forest, near Brevard and which surrounds the BRP, had some great hikes, many waterfalls, river tubing, and of course Sliding Rock.

So this was the portion of the trip that's in my backyard and I'm thankful you enjoyed it. Not sure if you saw it from an overlook, but one of the more famous mountains is called Looking Glass Rock. I just took my twin boys on their first "big" hike there last weekend. The hike is near to my heart as it was the first "big" hike I ever went on when my Dad took me in 1985. I have a "locals" secret for ya too if you ever go on it. Right after the helipad about a couple of miles up the trail (yep, you read that right, there's an "H" painted into the granite on the rock), you will see a little clearing on the right where you can walk up a granite face. Walk up that, turn around and take a look at the view. It's actually better than the end of the hike, which is spectacular itself. If you ever do the parkway again, I would encourage you to explore the Mount Pisgah area a little more, that seemed to be your only "omission" so to speak in your series. George Vanderbilt used to own all the real estate between the Biltmore House and Mount Pisgah. When he donated the bulk of his property to the federal government, his prime concern was preservation and keeping his view of Mount Pisgah from the Estate. The hike up the mountain itself is great, there is a campground at the base, you have the Pisgah Inn right there if you'd like a meal, and you can also travel Highway 276 down the mountain to see some sites in Pisgah Forest. Along that road you can get to Sliding Rock (which I see you have visited), Looking Glass Falls (which are right off the road), the trailhead for the Looking Glass Rock hike I took, and a terrific campground on the Davidson River. You hit Brevard as you come out. Glad you had a great time, thanks for sharing.

Good question. Since drones are illegal on the parkway and we rarely left the parkway, I used some stock drone footage from the area (so I thought until now) to supplement the video. Obviously that clip was improperly marked.

Thank you Randy and Julie for sharing, yet another great America's Parks video adventure! Like the other comments, I too was waiting with anticipation to see all four parts of your trip. You're right, when you venture South of Asheville, NC the BRP is a much steeper drive. Between Graveyard Fields and Devil's Courthouse is an amazing area called the Shinning Rock Wilderness with hiking trails such as Black Balsam Knob. South of Waterrock Knob is the Oconaluftee Visitor Center where you can view elk. Happy 25th Anniversary! May Christ give y'all many more wonderful years together!
