I've been addicted to watches since the 1960s when I was a kid. I always checked out my Dad's watches and also the watches my uncles wore. They are vintage now. My first watch was a mechanical watch my parents bought me for Christmas 1970. I was hooked from then. I love these Swiss watches here.

Victorinox could make a fortune if they made that INOX in 40-41mm version ... that 43mm is just .. big.
@leemartin29784 жыл бұрын
I agree in that I’ve had an INOX for a bit over 5 years now and used it under all manner of conditions. Its a quartz version It’s been fantastic . For me the size is ok but I fully understand demand for a smaller one. They desperately need a new design department, the engineering is great , but it’s looking boring and needs modernising and facelift it and soon.

I like that Marathon a lot. There’s a certain KZbin watch reviewer who says that a deep set dial cheapens a watch but I beg to differ. Sometimes, like with this Marathon, there’s a reason for it being set so deep. Nice list, Teddy. A lot of great watches here.

I wore the Glycine Airman while flying in the Air Force during Vietnam. Obviously, the price was different then. All air crew members seem to have these and we bought these at the basic exchange in Okinawa. They are far more versatile than the government issued watch at that time. obviously, we are dealing with the number of different time zones and this one fit the criteria perfectly. Years later, when I got into collecting watches, I stumbled across this old friend and, immediately, purchased one. Not the most expensive watch I own, but for a number different reasons, I absolutely love it!

I had had quartz watches before that had come and gone without leaving a mark, but the Tissot LeLocle Powermatic 80 (gold PVD, brown leather strap) was my first mechanical and first swiss watch. @@drfathertime They are the same tier but they really offer different catalogs. It's much more obvious at the next tier with Rado and Longines. Basically it's very difficult to find watches between the same tier that'll compete with each other. But if you look at watches from different tiers, you'll find similar looks between various tiers. Omega De Ville, Longines Master, Tissot Gentleman... Another example is Omega Seamaster 300M and Mido Seastar. This is neat if you like the looks of an expensive watch but can't afford it, you can potentially find a cheaper one that you like too.

And the Brushed proves that you can find more subtle watches from Swatch - nothing crazy, looks like a classic watch. And this movement CAN be serviced on some of their sistem watches. But is it worth it? Maybe if you have some nice, retired one. I’ve actually got plans for about two more from Swatch.
