Hi Ms. Donna I've never had tamale pie before and just my luck I have all the ingredients needed to make some 😊. I love Martha White cornbread mix of this kind, it's quick and convenient been using it since the 90s. When I don't have time to make homemade cornbread I always keep 2 to 4 packs of the martha white cornbread mix. I can't wait to dry this tamale pie! I'm in Aus and we don't have those cornbread mixes, what can I use? is polental ok or would that be too thick?

You can use regular cornmeal making a pan of cornbread I have a Mexican cornbread video if that would help or your favorite cornbread will work I never made this with polenta I hope this helps❤️

If you find out what they use for packaged cheese,you will grate your own-I never buy bagged cheese or minced,jarred garlic ,I always buy fresh garlic and peel it myself

Sheila the cheese that is already grated is coated in I hear some kind of starch that prevents it from sticking together in the package so it doesn’t fully melt as well as fresh grated will❤️
