man Project X came out for me right before I graduated my senior year of high school, thats ALL anyone was able to talk about. We spent the better part of the summer and even the next year trying to replicate that movie. If he didn't already do it with Superbad first round (one of the best movies ever made) Rico stole the draft with that one for me

I'm glad you guys mentioned "The Outsiders" in the honorable mentions. I have read the book like most people, and thankfully my parents actually had the movie. I'm 25 years old and I thought it was gonna be cheesy as shit, but it was awesome! Talk about a cast lineup: Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio. Greasers vs. Socs/Poor Kids vs. Rich Kids and an all out brawl at the end of the movie. Incredible classic that I think any age group can enjoy!

I saw Superbad in theaters when it came out summer going into 10th grade. When me and my friends got to the theater it felt like half the kids from school were there. We weren't 18 so we all bought tickets to Rush Hour 3 whose theater was right behind the ticker doorman and casually diverted directions over towards the Superbad theater. The only movie to this day I've seen where I didn't sit with the people I came with and people were standing watching from the back of the theater because there weren't enough seats . The drawing dicks scene was the hardiest I've ever laughed at a movie, I remember I couldn't breathe I was so taken off-guard

The biggest thing that annoys me about Project X is how it’s arguably one of the first modern teen movies that tried so hard to be "cool." What made classic teen movies so good before this movie is that they were innocent comedies that were naturally cool in and of themselves. Project X starts as a comedy but continues to get douchier and overblown with wow moments and special effects
