It is called a black "Sea Hare" that was swimming around. They have ears like a rabbit. Sometimes they are purple. Nice video.

Thank you ❤ You can bring all of that beach gear! We brought chairs, an umbrella, soft cooler, snorkel gear 👍 You will want it + there is no shade. Have fun 😎

Are there any shells in the jetty area, or anywhere other than just shell island?

Hi there - there actually were not many shells on shell island. The locals told us the best time to shell is after a storm when they get washed up. The jetty area had little conch shells, but they still had crustaceans in them.

Can you also ride bikes on the trails that you showed?

Hi Jean - I would just walk around gator lake. But you can bike the paved road through the park. There are also trails that go out to the point on the bay side but they were pretty sandy. We tried biking them but ending up walking with our bikes because of the sand 😎 Have fun!
