Great tips. I used peel and stick for a walk behind my shelves last year and I really could of used the tape trick. I was by myself and the pattern was horizontal instead of vertical so I was trying to tack the paper at one end and then tack it to the other and the try to peel sections. Omg goodness what a mess. Took me the entire day to put up 3 rows. If the pattern had been vertical like the brick I may have covered the entire wall. Lol. Thank you for sharing.
@marypolancodesigns4 жыл бұрын
Oh no, I'm sorry you struggled. It can be tricky and i had to learn a few lessons.
@leannemitchem88654 жыл бұрын
My biggest lessons were to buy the peel and stick with the pattern going across the smallest part. This way you can line them up side by side. And second have some help. 4 hands are better than 2.
@Cards4Cancer4 жыл бұрын
I truly love that brick. Is it shiny paper? I think matte would be so much better, but is it easy to stain when you numb into the wall? I am bad about falling (MS truly sucks) I found out the hard way that painted fingernails can leave a colorful line if you bump it on your way down.
@marypolancodesigns4 жыл бұрын
The one I used for the table is shiny, but the wall paper is matte. It's better matte, you are right about that for the walls. I'm not sure about staining it; I'm so sorry!

How do you get it smooth? With the tools you recommend do you go up and down or side to side? What exactly am I measuring? So you're holding the back in place with the painters tape, how do you get back there to peel the backing off?
@marypolancodesigns3 жыл бұрын
This was my first home project on video and NOT my best work for the lack of detail in it. I'm so sorry about that. I used one of those large plastic wallpaper scrapers to smooth it out. When you pull down the release paper start from the top and with both hands pull evenly and smooth out as you go. When you measure, measure from the ceiling to the floor and then leave about 2-3 inches on each end so that you can line up your bricks. I hope this helps!

When I pulled off the paper from our rented home, i got about 2 spots that needed to be painted over again, that was it; very minor. The rest came off super easy. But there are more factors that you may have to consider like climate where you live, and the quality of the paper too.

Hi, the wallpaper looks great. I know your not supposed to put wallpaper over textured walls, but since i'm just renting and I'm not expecting the wallpaper to stay up permanently, can I still hang the wallpaper? I mean will it at least stay up for about a year? Or will it not even stick....
@marypolancodesigns2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much; those details depend on a few things. How textured? Like popcorn textured. Also, the amount of humidity in your home, things like that. I've done 5 walls in my time and only 1 strip on 1 wall ever came down. So i've had great luck.. Check the reviews for whatever wallpaper you choose.

Awesome Tips Mary, Question? How are you able to stop the peel and stick wall paper from sagging Mary? what did you do to fully press the paper onto the wall with a clean dry sponge? Or did i just buy cheap wall paper. I actually did consider that blue brick wall paper from Amazon. Mahalo...Dana
@marypolancodesigns3 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any issues with the types I've purchased. I used a wall paper scraper to press it down but a towel to press it would work too. Is it very humid where you life? That might be causing it.

Wow! Absolutely Beautiful Mary. Now I have a question. When you take down that peel and stick wallpaper, does it tear your drywall?? Does it leave a glue residue. Does it damage the drywall in any way? Thanks so much. xo

Great question, Donna. I had the darker brown brick up for 2 years on my rental and when i pulled it down there were 2 small spots of dry wall pulled with it. Each about a half dollar size. No sticky residue anywhere.
