I am not sure I saw you use the Shift= to align nodes. It is much quicker than some of the ways you were moving the nodes around to align them.

This is a very good video, I'm really good at organising my nodes but I still learned a few tips, like the multiple maps import (I used to do ctrl+t for only one map at once). Thanks for sharing those ! To remove the reroute points, I usually do ctrl+X that remove the selected thing while keeping the wire connected.

Also checkout noodler, the addon was created by the same dev of scatter. It's a super nice addon. Really makes stuff easier. It's a bit finicky to work though if you use a tablet. That's because mouse scroll has final function for this addon

I love node wrangler, but a lot of different texture types aren't recognized by the principled stop tool like ambient occlusion maps, alpha maps, etc. While node wrangler will set up your albedo, roughness, normal, and displacement, other maps will need to be set up by hand. NW saves a ton of time, but I hope they add more texture types to future updates. Node groups are the best.

Keep in mind, if you expose propertirs of a node group and you apply the same node group to different materials. Each material will use different properties. Where as you don't expose them, the node group use globale properties. Meaning if you adjust something inside the group, all materials with that node group will get the same adjustments. This can be a bit confusing

With node wrangler on, you can select a bunch of nodes and press Shift+p to quickly put them in a frame. Btw, I was looking around for a way to make newly added nodes minimized by default. Anybody know how?

Noodle curving needs to be able to go full 90 degrees.
@TheCGEssentials

Wouldn't that just be...not curved at all?
@urbandecay3436
@urbandecay3436 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheCGEssentials Exactly. There is reason circuit design charts are linear and not curved. It is easier to organize, and the signal flow can easily be made sense.

One thing I find so very annoying, is that we have the shortcut to preview a node. But why isn't there a shortcut to connect the last node to the material out again. I have not found a shortcut for this. I think I'm gonna add my own operator for this. The workflow drives crazy now and then
