Last week I went into MEPS wanting to be a 12W(Carpenter and Masonry)...if not I was going to pick a job that was more on the safe side, away from combat and my whole family was aware of this. Well I don’t know what got into me but I came out enlisting as a combat engineer😂. My family wasn’t to happy about that and some even she’d some tears but I’m up for the challenge. I ship off November 2

@baminibaum13012 жыл бұрын
You can pick your MOS, you'll even get trained in the MOS. The catch is there is a slim chance you'll work in your MOS once you are assigned to a Unit and Duty Station. Example, say you want to learn how to operate a Bull Dozer. You select that MOS and the Army sends you to school to be trained on operating a Bull Dozer. After you complete the training you're assigned to a Combat Engineer unit assigned to an Infantry Division. When you arrive all the Equipment Operator Slots are filled, they make you a Pioneer and retrain you as a Combat Engineer Secondary MOS for the time being. You'll work in that slot for who knows how long. Maybe until your commitment is completed. That is how it works.

Thats true though.. lol If you change your ship date that means you lose your slot that they have reserved for you at AIT.
