Air body saws work really good too. They cut surprisingly fast with little to no distortion of the panel... Plus you can save the still sharp ends of wore out hacksaw blades to reuse as air body saw blades.

I am a DIY woodworker and I am trying to find something to cut a curved pattern into thin metal. I don't have much experience in cutting metal. That nibbler looked like a great way to cut curves. Can you use a nibbler with my air compressor that I have for my nail guns? Thanks for any info.

Yes - you may have to let the compressor catch up now and then but you'll be able to cut for about 1-2 minutes at a time :)

Probably an angle grinder with a cut off wheel - Harbor Freight. Floor boards are a bit too thick. Best thing for the floorboards is this tool - It will blow your mind how easy it cuts - you'll think you're cutting plastic - www.harborfreight.com/75-amp-5-in-double-cut-saw-63408.html Another tool - www.harborfreight.com/75-amp-5-in-double-cut-saw-63408.html with a cut off wheel - thin like 1/16" or similar.

How many CFM would be needed for air nibblers at a minimum?

Mine's around 7.5 CFM @ 40 psi and I have to wait for it to catch up when I use the nibbler but I don't mind. That being said, I guess you would have to have more than that to use it continuously. That get pricey though i.e. 2 stage, 220v, large tank, etc.

That's a nibbler - it's from northern tool but many different places carry them :)

i have a rusty part in a narrow operating place under a vehicle, near there is also electrical cables, i think the best is the air hummer tip in this case, but did you ever tries the multi oscillating tool?

I have not used one of those tools. I think you're right with the air hammer bit. Maybe a sawzall with a long metal blade to reach? If you do try the oscillating tool and it works well, let me know :)

@@LakesideAutobody yes i'll let you know, can't use sawzall because there is a coibentation panel behind rust. Tomorrow going to try with die grinder and mill bit, if it does not work ill get the multi tool.

No I haven’t tried one yet. I think I’m going to pick one up real soon here, as I have some rust repair to do. I hope to post some AMC pics to my channel soon. I have to get to our history center in Kenosha and see what cars are on display.
