Wow, that is some nice train. I took a "first class" sleeper Cairo to Luxor in 1977 (way before you were born). I did book the compartment just for myself. Pleather seats and there was a dining car, but there was a flood in the hallway (water pouring out of the ceiling) and no one at that end of train could get to the dining car! Everyone had their compartment doors open laughing about the water. The Egyptians shared their brought-from-home food with poor Westerners who hadn't brought any. Enjoyed your video.

It's so good to see this. I was on this train when I did an Egypt Tour with Contiki Tour Group back in 2008. We left Cairo into Aswan and it was originally supposed to be and 12 to 18 hour train ride due to delays and possibly other reasons we ended up staying on that train for almost 24 hours straight. I remember the food being disgusting we really didn't want to touch it. The food in the video seems to be a lot nicer than when I remember. There was very little space to walk around there was a bar area with a couple of tables and there was one communal bathroom at all passengers had to share beyond that there was no other room to walk around or move about and you were pretty much confined to your little cells.

I logged into my account just to comment. Last April, I was in Egypt. I also went to Aswan thru the sleeper train. I paid $80. Not bad actually. My Egyptian friends paid 350 pounds and that's how it works. I love the sleeper train. I slept so well as I was rocked to bed. In Aswan, we stayed at Basma Hotel. It was a beautiful hotel that sits on top of a hill. We hired a tour guide to take us anywhere we want to go. Look for Roma Abu Simbel on Facebook. He's a gentleman who gets to our hotel always on time. Since we got to Aswan quite early, we had our lunch while waiting for our check in. Good thing the hotel had us leave our stuff at the lobby while having lunch at the McDonald by the Nile River corniche,Then we went back to our hotel to check in. At 1 pm, we went to the falouka harbor. We paid 250 Egyptian pounds to take us to the Nubian village. We had good time there. There were quite number of Westeners. Then from Nubian village, we went to the High Dam of Aswan, then to the Nubian Museum, then to the market. We had our dinner in a place I forgot the name that serves all kinds of seafood. Prices are cheap in my standard, being Filipina working in Los Angeles. The next day, we woke up at 3:30am because our ride to Abu Simbel will at the hotel at 4am. Abu Simbel is somewhat three hours drive. And it was worth the trip. Aswan is a very beautiful relaxed City compared to Cairo. You should never miss it if you are in Egypt. By the way, the $80 fare was round trip. So it was not bad at all. It was worth it all.

Watching this during the Corona Virus quarantine and it makes me long to travel. We have been to this temple in 2011 and I really want to go back. So glad for all this content. I can travel with you while safely in my home. Thank you and hope you are well and that your baby is coming soon!
