I recently drove one and I'm so glad you can turn off one pedal driving, it made my passenger sick when we took out a Tesla, the mini felt like a normal car to drive for the most part.

We have that midnight black with the alloy wheels too. I love that car so much. Close to 50/50 weight distribution, and when you hit the corners you're planted, enough to still accelerate sometimes (as long as you don't go too crazy). We have the lounge chairs which helps when we roadtirp it to Vegas/San Diego/etc. It's clearly not for everyone or every purpose, BUT (and you want HOME CHARGING, but for the price) IT'S SO MUCH FUN. We put about 25,000 miles on it in a year.

I have a 2023 Mini Cooper electric and here in SoCal I get about 140-150 miles depends on whether I drive on the freeway or street.
@langdonalger1495 ай бұрын
How do you do that? I live in SoCal and I get about 100 mi., not driving like a maniac or anything- yet I don’t event get close to that range.

I’m in SoCal too and get about the same with mixed driving.
@langdonalger1495 ай бұрын
@@ra65c83 I see, thanks. What falls under “mixed driving” if you care to elaborate…I get an average 3.7 mi/kWh and that’s pretty much what I see in forums and Reddit threads

@@langdonalger149 We get 4 m/kw in southern California. It's kind of the perfect place for a short range EV. Between the warm air, the traffic, and lots of chargers in the area if you end up having a crazy day. (around 112 miles )

I also have the 2023 Cooper SE L3 and I can only get maximum 100-115 miles in summer and 90 miles in winter. I'm not too bothered with the low range because it can charge from 10%-80% in 15-25 minutes at a public charger or 3-4 hours overnight for £2. I always drive in sport mode around town or motorways, mainly doing 50mph max a few days a week. I drove it on 0% SoC last winter and it was able to go for an extra 30 miles until it died, and even then when the recovery truck driver started it up, it was able to drive on to his truck without an issue. I tried driving on 0% SoC this summer and it was completely dead, as I was so close to home the recovery truck driver dropped my car off at my house instead of at a public charger. I live in London, UK. So far, I haven't done any long road trips, definitely not in winter as it would need multiple charges throughout the day, next summer I'm planning to drive from London to Scotland so that will be an exciting challenge with this car.

In the midlands (uk) the range is roughly 100miles. 115ish in the summer, 85ish in the winter. From a 13amp plug it takes 7minutes for 1% From a 50kw supercharger, 30 seconds per 1% The car is quicker than most cars on the road and the handling is excellent. The factory fitted tyres are crap and not up to the job. They skid under regen- so my my driving style!! Fit Pilot Sport 5 and it drives properly. I can’t believe BMW fit such poor tyres to a £32,000 car! The insured value as a 72 plate with 15k miles is £16500. That’s straight from E-sure & is an incredible 50% depreciation. Someone somewhere, is having a laff. Would I buy one again? The mini isn’t a bad car. The build quality is what you would expect. But no, I’d buy a used Tesla. Free charging for life and much more comfortable. Oh and even quicker - with more range as well. Starting Prices are comparable to the Minis’ value

I use one every day - max 106 miles - which is fine for commuting

@@DrivenPlus The estimate 145 miles range is only when you drive in Green+ mode. I mainly drive in sport mode around town and some motorways and I always get 100-115 miles out of it. Charges very fast though, 10%-80% in 15-25 mins.

The battery range even in cold weather might well be 100 miles with 100%. just under 30 kWh usable battery, and if it was doing 3.3 miles a kWh on the last trip, if it was getting 4 miles a kWh or so it might show 114 miles or so. It will seldom show more than 120 miles, but you might well get 120 miles. Getting near 145 miles needs a bit of hypermiling. Worst i have had in well below zero temp and half 70 mph max motorway and half NSL is 85 miles from 100% to 5 %. That is in Sport. I only use MID, GREEN or Green + if the cruise control is on and i am going to stuggle to get to a Rapid Charger in Scotland or at least a 11 kW AC. Charge Place Scotland / SWARCO and local authority maintenance is pathetic for chargers. Small Battery and quick charging / 50 kW or if not on an 11 kW AC suits me.

Nice review, a small point, yes they can accelerate quicker than the official figures. But if doing 0-60 mph then expect that to be lower than the 0-100 kph / 62 mph. As to Traction Control off, Dynamic OFF. HOLD the switch for 3 Seconds, switch it all off. As to 0-62. Tyre dependent. Actually in MID you can match the SPORT times, SOMETIMES. or TC on can if on a good surface and no wheel spin. I get better performance with 195 / 16,s All seasons on compared to the 205 all seasons on 17" rims. and much better than the shockingly bad Goodyear Eagle F1 205 / 45 R 17,s it came now wearing.

I have a 2007 Mini Cooper S... I love it, but it just keeps having lots of little problems i have to deal with. Time to replace it. I keep looking at the Mini EV and it's just so inadequate for an EV.

I had a 23 plate one of these a few weeks back with 500 miles on the clock , range at 95% full was 87 miles. Think I’d go BMW I3 over this , if I was in the market for a second , city commuter, odd jobs car .

I've bought my 2nd 2023 Mini Cooper SE L3 in 7 months (sold the first one which I converted to LCI2 JCW front and rear) and I don't think I'll ever sell this car again. It's perfect for me, even though I'm 6 ft 3 tall! Would love an extra 100 miles but you can't have everything. I certainly don't want the 2024 version as the interior has lost it's soul and the front end doesn't lift up in sport mode like it does with this 2021-23 version (not great for front tyre tread). There is one issue though, since I bought this 2nd car in August 2024 with 700 miles on the clock, the 2 right side tyres keep on losing pressure by 3-4 psi every 2-3 days. Mini roadside assistance came and found out that the tyre valves were faulty. Mini servicing wanted to charge me £180 per hour to find the problem when I already told them what it was. Therefore, I changed all.4 tyres recently but the problem still exists! The tyre fitter changed the tyre valves but I'm completely stumped as to what is causing the 2 right side tyres to lose pressure so vastly and quickly.
