2 Cups Granulated Sugar (400g)
1 Cup Vegetable oil (240ml)
3 3/4 Cups Cake Flour (480g)
1 1/2 Cup Milk (375ml)
1 Tbsp Baking Powder (15g)
Pinch of salt
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract (10-15g)

I tried so many butter based recipes and could never get the texture right but this recipe literally blows my mind, the cake is so soft and fluffy and takes like the bakery. First time I used this recipe was in June, it was my first time properly baking and decorating a cake for a birthday and it was a huge success now fast forward to October and I still absolutely love and use this recipe all the time! It comes out perfect each time. I’ve even used it to make cupcakes and lemon cakes ( all I had to do was use some lemon extract/ lemon zest and juice). I think it is smart to prep the pans that will be used before starting the cake mixing instead of after. Baking powder as a leavening reacts as soon as it touches the liquid. You will get better results by doing this step.

I tried this out today and it turned out SOOOOO GOOOOOD. Thank you so much for this recipe and I was so happy with the results. Even after putting the cake in the freezer for like 3 hours, it was soooo soft and moist. 10/10 recommended ❤️

@@msfarrah2451 no since it was for a few hours but if you want to keep it in the fridge for a day or so then it would be better for you to wrap the cake in plastic wrap.

I made this cake and followed the video instructions I used 2 8 in instead of 6 and both cakes seemed dense. I did not over mix. I actually followed along with the video mixing times and I also sifted the flour. I did have to substitute baking soda for the cake flour, which is a hack she suggested in another video. I gave the cake to others and they said it was good. It was too heavy for me, but if you’re looking for a sturdier cake then this is a good recipe.

I ended up making three 6in cakes and ma’am, THANK YOU. Came out delicious, moist, and fluffy. I did not use the baking paper stripes or the damp towels because I used silicon forms. I ended up with a dome shape, but I don’t mind because I just cut it off and ate it 😁😁 I also used your recipe for the cake flour since I only had all purpose on hand. Came out exceeding my expectations!

I also want to mention I used cake flour and rested the batter for a full 30 minutes! I used half fat Greek yogurt, it was still so so light and sooooo very moist, oil cakes are the best and stand up in the freezer well to!

I personally never tried incorporating flavours like you mentioned but I believe the outcome would be amazing (makes me want to try it myself lol). Just make sure to add baking paper to the bottom because combinations like these tend to stick of the biscoff touches the bottom. Enjoy! ❤️
