Thanks man 2gb file went to 40 mb. In case anyone wants to know, my video was a PowerPoint presentation. If you have an HD movie, 1.5 hours is approximately 1.5 gb. So, don't try this. Only try this when your file is very large for a short time period, and you can also try it if you don't have a lot of moving objects. In general a good rule of thumb for a movie is 100 mb per 10 minutes IMO.

It worked perfectly for me. I had a file with 230 Mb and after following the instruction on this video it went converted to 20 mb, it is litterally 10% of the original size and its almost impossible to notice any difference in the quality. Thanks alot lad.

to who cant find the Advance section please kindly go to the tab at the top Tools > Options > General > and watch carefully at the last box and tick that box "Show Advance Encoder Option Tab" and you good to go..peace....

For handbrake version 1.0.7 and above to show advanced tab go to tools up in the menu & click preferences then in general>user interface check "Allow use of 'Advanced' tab for x264 options. (Deprecated)

Yeah but you need a lot of space to make a video in the first place. Or you make a long video with a really low quality type. The more space you have, the better the quality. You can't dislike this video, when it is your own fault for not getting a bigger storage device....

Sir you are god! I am not even kidding!! I've been searching for videos like these and it was shit or either the explanation was bad. Before when i make a 1 minute video it renders 50 GIGABYTES.I knew Handbrake even then but the important thing is when it RENDERS not after that. Thanks for the video. Handbrake worked before. Very excellent reductions in file sizes with no loss of quality. However, it just stopped working for some reason. Reductions are from 3 gb to 2gb using your instructions. I wonder why the sudden change?

Hi Kenneth, sorry to hear that Handbrake isn't working as well as it was before, I believe that since this tutorials upload Handbrake has had a few updates, this means that some settings in this tutorial have either been removed or reset. I would recommend watching a more up-to-date tutorial to fix this issue - sorry for the inconvenience.

Handbrake honestly to me does take away a lot of quality and overall takes about the same amount of time due to rendering through sony vegas then handbrake and then uploading rather than just rendering in sony and uploading directly from there.

Very good effort But i have got a 4K Camcorder and if i record a full HD 1080 video of 60 minutes then the size is in multiple GB. So what could be minimum size of a full HD 1080 video, while using vegas??? Remember the quality needed should b stunning. pls help me

Nah, I have it fixed. The audio had a velocity, and I didn't delete it, and the line stayed there, all the way to 10 mins and I was like wth?

The newest version of Handbrake doesn't have an Advanced tab but even without it, I managed to get my video down from 10GB to 13.1 MB. No (apparent) loss in quality either

Go to preferences, click video tab, then put your GPU acceleration of video processing to off instead of your graphics card. Hope this was not too late.

So the render took *5.5 hours,* the 45 minute video was 1.56 gigs. And _after_ Handbrake (which took another 90 mins) it was 1.31 gigs. A complete waste of time, honestly. I wish someone could get the settings right. I've watched dozens of videos with different settings for both programs, and they all do the same thing: take an eternity to render, a massive video file results, and attempting to resize it which takes another hour or 2 at LEAST, it's only reduced by a teeny bit, or sometimes even gets larger! Either my computer is just too old, or these settings in general aren't good enough, or are _too_ good. _(headdesk)_

Okay, the render time: the reason as to why it took 5.5 hours to render your video is because of your computer, clearly it is not best suited to render videos; I'd definitely consider upgrading your system (having a modern CPU will usually reduce render time dramatically). Secondly 1.56 GB for a 45 minute video - are you kidding me? That size is ridiculously small for the length of the video you have rendered, if this is still too big, consider lowering the resolution of the video OR better yet, get better internet. The settings that I have provided clearly work for everyone else and myself. If you have any further questions, feel free to reply to this comment. Thanks.

Advanced Settings weren't visible on Handbrake, but I found another video that had slightly different settings that made the video a bit smaller and no quality was changed. I know I need a new PC. This one's about 8 years old. xD

It's a custom template, you first have to select any .mp4 preset. Then simply follow my instructions - at which point you rename the template to whatever you want. For the purpose of the video i named mine "KZbin 720p". Hope this helps!

+Zeeman Division Yup. some people are also having trouble on finding the advance tab. and even the tick box to use the advance tab. In order to get this working, Go to Tools (upper left menu) then Options. Then there's gonna me a statement in the General tab saying "Show advance option encoder tab" Tick that and you're good to go :D
