Great reminder. It’s cold and rainy here in Kentucky and we just had 4” of snow. Watching this has me holding my 8 iron and checking my swing😂

I like this …but I am be the minority and hook the ball bc my right wrist rolls over my left thus my club face is closed to my path which results in my left wrist collapsing…any suggestions?

I must say first. You have a beautiful swing. A definite swing easy look. I love watching you doing videos like this. Simplifying a very technical issue is quite simply a true talent. Fantastic video love it. ❤

I was just thinking about this this morning as I tend to stray off to the right side usually later in my round. I couldn’t figure it out. This seemingly sounds like it could be my culprit. Playing tomorrow so I’ll be more aware hopefully. Thanks!

Exactly what I need to do since my bad habit is cupping causing loss of distance, to high ball flight, lack of center clubhead strike, etc. Challenge is tempo and rhythm without creating tension. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanx😊

I saw an old video with you guiding someone with a very closed clubface at the top. Im trying hard to solve that + getting rid of my hook that has been something ive always struggled with. When i competed alot i played like a push draw to make it work. Im also trying to weaken my grip but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Was down at ~3 in hcp until I had a roughly 10 year break (kids).

Hey there! Would love to help, but I'd be able to help best if I could see your swing on video so there's no guesswork involved. Send swings to CogornoGolf.com so we can do a full analysis and build you a personalized practice plan...should be an easy fix. Hope to see ya there!

what do you recommend with drivers and fw woods? you'd just low hook everything if you do this right?
@CogornoGolf6 ай бұрын
Same general principles apply here for all clubs! You would low/hook if you OVERDO them....yes. But 90% of golfers UNDER DO them and miss right....so they need more :) OR could go more arm rotation route to square....there are options I explain here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHS6aoqVoayEqq8&pp=ygUpRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGNvbnNpc3RudGx5IHNxdWFyZSBjbHViIGZhY2U%3D

I have a flat right wrist at the top of my backswing. However my right arm moves towards the ball like I’m arm wrestling. Resulting in over the top and early extension. Would like to see a video,on how the right arm moves in transition to correct the over the top tat leads to early extension.
@CogornoGolf9 ай бұрын
Hey Mark! For sure....I would use these for how right arm moves in transition to correct that But if you are saying that correctly and you do have a RIGHT WRIST (not left) flat at the top that's an issue and you want to fix that and bend back more On right arm: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5a9n4KqotOYn5o&pp=ygUxRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGFybSB1bmRlciBsZWZ0IHN0YXJ0IGRvd25zd2luZw%3D%3D kzbin.info/www/bejne/noGWZ2mNZ96MiZY&pp=ygUxRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGFybSB1bmRlciBsZWZ0IHN0YXJ0IGRvd25zd2luZw%3D%3D

I'm puzzled by your assertion that cupping and bowing left wrist steepens and flattens the shaft. Does it not just open and close the face? Place left forearm on a table, grip club and have the shaft straight up. Now bow and cup left wrist. Face closes and opens. Nothing happens to shaft. Have I got this wrong?
@gustyvoshell48959 ай бұрын
Yes you have. Go to the top of your backswing looking at a mirror. Leave your left wrist a bit cupped and start your move down. Do it again bowing your right wrist as you lower your arms or start your move down. It will become very obvious that the club becomes way more shallow. That the only swing thought or feel I worry about it in downswing. It shallows it all by itself. If your steep you really want to look at this.
@wmbishop229 ай бұрын
You had it right on pros delofting the club the first time, I think. Pros deloft an 8 iron to a 6 iron, while amateurs with bad wrist angles put too much loft on their 6 irons and turn them into 8 iron lofts, right?
@CogornoGolf9 ай бұрын
Hey! Yep....it definitely changes the shaft angle as well
@guitar19509 ай бұрын
You have to consider that rotation of the body affects the shaft. Placing your forearm on a table doesn't take this into account.

Grip
@CogornoGolf9 ай бұрын
Thats an important one for sure! Heres how grip plays into wrist angles: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWiaZ3-vq7JphsU&pp=ygUYRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGdyaXAgd3Jpc3Rz

i'm beginner, 2 months, i find it too risky to use wrist for face open/close, i would rather set up face open/close at the address and keep wrist neutral. Similar for loft, I would rather prefer ball positioning between feet for adding / reducing lobe / loft than playing with the wrist bends.
