Tissot is everything Tag Heuer should be: not overpriced, honest about their movements, and good QC...yes, I've had bad experiences with Tag
@danilom3166

Out of the 5 Tissot that came my way over the last 20 years, two of them are PRCs 200 quartz. One I got in Italy in 2009, the other I was gifted in 2019. I'll tell you this, at least the clasp and bracelet quality has dropped. Another is the Quickster from 2014 (which I can tell is the worst Tissot I have). I must be fair: my Aquaracer is a better watch, both in finishing and movement, than any Tissot quartz I have. Between the Tag and my Chr Ward Trident C60, the Ward wins. You'll read and hear that Chr Ward is Omega level, but it's not. The bezel action and movement on the 300M are far superior.

Tissot is nowhere near the quality of Tag Heuer. Sure Tissot makes good watch for it's price. But you can immediately see where they cut corners. Bracelet is one, case finishing is second, the movement though is reliable. So that is where I believe Tissot actually stands. Tag Heuer is better and is priced slightly higher than they should be but they do make good watches (just don't but their quartz or F1 line}. Omega, of course is ahead of these two. Tag Heuer is better than an Oris and maybe in between Longines and Omega. But lumping brands together is where the issue happens. Tag Heuer as well as Longines have pieces that span across multiple price points. I believe this is where the confusion in ranking lies. This is all just my opinion owning at least one or two from each of the brands I mentioned.

As much as I think the Quickster is crap, it's not a pile crap that cost over that cost over $1k with celebrity endorsement s (yes, I'm talking about the F1, Indy and Link). Their "in house" movement actually being a Seiko says something about their integrity.
@cedricduyongco

@@seanthomxx2694 Yes that's the problem with Tag. Their entry level offerings are pulling their image down. But all their other offerings are actually quite good. Especially all offering after around 2010 onwards. Their current offering is also quite well starting from the Aquaracer price point going up. That's what I mean when I say you can't lump up all brands together. Especially for other brands that have multiple price points within their lineup. Longines is an example of a watch that has multiple price points. It is what gives them a lower ranking on the survey than it should have.

@@gtaatmiami Sir, You just purchased a watch that your great grandchild will look at with Dreamy Wonder. I asked a guy today, what was your “Great Grandfather’s Name?” He didn’t know. I asked, “brutally honest, Do you know why you don’t know?” Him: “No,….Please?”(shrug) Me: Because he didn’t leave you anything. Leave a Legacy Sir. “Anything” is better than “Nothing.” But a Tissot is breadcrumbs leading to excellence.

Jory, In order to elicit a specific answer you need to ask the right questions. The BEST of anything is not specific enough to measure these watches. Omega may have won the poll because they are the most popular which translates to the best. But, Are you looking for best looking? best quality? best fitting? best value? Etc...In my opinion the Best watchmaker is either Blancpain or Breguet. The most popular, best marketed, best sales etc...Omega, but from a superior product standpoint I think Blancpain is tops. Don’t get me wrong, Omega is an incredible brand and product. So, I think the questions should be; 1. Which Brand makes superior watches. 2. Which brand has the best value. 3. Which brand .... you get my point, the answers might illicit a interesting result.

While Omega probably rightly deserves the win, I think Longines provides amazing value as an entry level luxury watch brand. Swatch appears to have positioned Longines where Omega used to be before they transitioned to the coaxial movements. They are very well made watches.

This is my thoughts - It's probably bcz people who polled are NOT familiar with HIGH horology pieces. As fine as Omega is as a matchmaker, the Seamaster and Speedo are NOT high horology. Whereas GO, Brequet, and Blancpain are very much high horology. Last note, Longines too is a fine watch, but definitely not high horology. Probably above Hamilton and way below Omega.

RADO is my all time favourite Watch Manufacturer - So many firsts , first to use Sapphire Glass (Diastar), first to use Ceramic - Really innovative in its designs and Materials now and in its past - and its prices are very reasonable - My 30 year old Diastar (because of its Tungsten Carbide case) still looks as good as the day it was made - My Second favourite Swatch Group Member has to be LONGINES which has very tasteful and classy watches at affordable prices - Worst is OMEGA in my opinion - Although I do like the Railmaster, but its so expensive now that no everyman blue collar worker, who it was originally designed for, can afford it - Nothing else from their collection stands out to me

I took my brand new Seiko Prospex PADI to get the bands adjustment a week earlier and he didn't really say anything about it. I love the look of the Seiko as it more of my style but I would definitely keep my dad's RADO in my collection forever. I think RADO is very popular in Europe and Asian and probably up there with many high end Swiss and other watch brands. It's just that popular or well known here in the US.

I really love the Swatch company and all of their lineup. I believe that a watch collector can create an amazing collection only using Swatch and it's affiliated brand and not really miss out, but that is my personal opinion. Having said that, I would rate the watches as follows: 1- Breguet 2- Glashutte 3- Omega 4- Longines 5- Blancpain 6- Rado 7- Mido 8- Hamilton 9- Certina 10-Tissot and finally at 11- Swatch. Breguet is my favourite because it has so much history (I know about Omega going into space and moon), but Breguet was the first brand to make a wristwatch for the Queen of Naples and also (this is contentious) but been said to be the first to create the tourbillon. Let's not forget, if it's not for Swatch, the Swiss watch industry would have collapsed due to the Japanese movements.

As a dive watch nut that Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date is my absolute grail, above anything Rolex or Omega makes. Such a gorgeous watch. My current affordable grail is the Tissot Sea Star 2000 Professional Powermatic 80. Mido's Ocean star decompression timer 1961 is top for me. For Longines it's their heritage skin diver. Rado Captain Cook slate grey is a killer retro diver. Breguet's Diver is not made anymore, I don't think, so gotta go with the Marine. Blancpain's 50 Fathoms Bathyscaphe no doubt. Certina's DS PH200M. How bout Alpina's Seastrong or their Seastrong Heritage? Omega would definitely be their Seamaster 300.

On my second Tissot.. 3 Omegas.. and.. a Submariner.. maybe too fashion... ish but love my Cartier.. yeah they aren't all in the Swatch group.. but have a 1945 Hamilton.. when they were American made. Really liked that Mido.. but I need another dress watch like I need ... well I should look at others... Great review.. life's too short to own a boring watch! That's my new catch line!

I own a Hamilton pan europ (2019)and a Breguet XXI (2008)from the Swatch groep. I have had all kinds of Omega’s in my collectie over the years, but they are all gone. Like the brand Omega however. Somehow they are frist watches that I trade in for a IWC , Rolex ect. Hamilton is very good value and Breguet is timeless. They both diserve more love from collectors in my opinon😊

For me the Omega Tressor. I own a 1949 Omega Tressor 18k rose gold with a black face with sub dial for seconds. It is a beautiful Watch. I bought it three years ago for the princely sum of $1500.00. This watch is pristine. Today you can buy a modern version Of this watch for $16,500. True my watch is a seventeen manual wind watch, but it runs every day. The modern version is bigger, but very similar.

Everyone is so obsessed with stainless steel sports watches, i get that. But the Omega 40mm DeVille Tresor, especially in white gold with the "clous de Paris" pattern on the dial, that's a killer watch.

I know tissot is very affordable, specially considering it's swiss made. Somehow they watches don't have that heft or the metal feels Lil plasticy . Do they use 316 SS ? For the price, an equivalent seiko feels better

Omega is definitely the darling of Swatch! And the most commercially popular brand. But I would say Breguet is the "best" watch brand of Swatch!
@jordanbaxter7807
@jordanbaxter7807 3 жыл бұрын
Truth is that while Breguet is objectively the best, Swatch have to work with what has the most recognition and cachet, which will always be Omega. Between anyone born after 1989 knowing it as "the" Bond watch, and fairly aggressive marketing full stop, Omega is without doubt the easiest one to sell as an image/lifestyle brand.

I think Tissot is the best brand for most. The Seastar 2000 is specced out like an Omega Planet Ocean but I think that Swatch's best brand BY FAR is Breguet.

I own a 26 years old Omega Seamaster that still works and looks like new and is the favorite watch in my small collection . At some point I owned a Rolex Sub and this Omega Seamaster , however during the real state crisis of 2008 I had to get rid of one of them due to money problems ..... guess which one stayed with me and which one went away . Omega for life .
