Hey buddy, I don’t want to be one of those guys it goes on and on and brags but I was a level two BMW tech in downtown Houston Texas from around 2000 to 2005 and the factory BMW tool we used for refilling coolant systems works exactly like the one you’re talking about. It’s just a lot more expensive Make a long story short good video man he did a great job of explaining the steps anyone should be able t a follow this video with this tool and bleed any BMW without getting an air pocket. Good job man.

Remember both bleeding processes are fairly long so don't forget to put your car's battery on a charger with at least 12 amps as to not run down the battery. AGM batteries are not cheap and while not the same as regular ones you never want to discharge a battery below a certain limit. Great video and content as usual. Thank you for all of your hard work, Ken

Def get the kit with the second fitting so you can bleed the filling hose first. Pull the vacuum, open the filler hose for a second, re pull the vacuum a bit, open filler valve again and it's all liquid right in

You got a link for that kit?

Is it possible to connect hand vacuum pump to this adapter to be able to create vacuum?(instead of compressor which is expensive)

Vacuum is the ONLY way. I do think it's worth a word of caution that most of the water wetter products include anti-corrosion additives and not all of them are compatible with all types of coolant and incompatible mixes can make a sludgy-like gel. For cars that aren't exposed to SUPER cold low temps, I like the idea of using a more dillute coolant mixture for a couple degrees worth of improved cooling. A 25% Propylene glycol / 75% water mix in the intercooler side will be protected from coolant slushing down to 15 deg F, and provides burst protection down to 10F. -I live in Seattle and this is MORE than enough protection for our coldest winter days and provides better cooling (5-6F as an engine coolant). More water in the mixture requires more anti-corrosion additive, though and finding one compatible with the BMW Blue coolant is the challenge. -I'm not clear on whether the BMW blue coolant for B58s is a Phosphate-free HOAT chemistry or the newest Silicated HOAT chemistry. (BMW uses both) -Silicated chemistries are NORMALLY purple, so I'm guessing that the BMW blue that's recommended for these is a phosphate-free HOAT (low silicate) formulation.

Hey brother, big fan. Just recently bought a 2017 340i x-drive with 42,000 miles. I just did a coolant flush on the high-temp reservoir. Went well however my initial plan was to drain the low-temp reservoir because the coolant color is a yellowish green. I can’t figure out where the drain is for the low-temp reservoir. I know in your videos you said it would be near the intake manifold and all that but there should be an easy way to drain like the high-temp, right? Idk man I need some help I hope to hear back from the goat. Thanks man.
@zave49927 ай бұрын
So when pushing the coolant through the high temp circuit, you dont need to turn on the hazards or headlights?
@AMS6119 ай бұрын
Many kits come with a “universal” tapered adapter that happens to perfectly fill our reservoir to halfway between min and max

i've seen those but wasn't sure if it would hit/break the coolant level indicator

Have to pull the lowest hose on the radiator for the circuit you want to drain
I’m sure I still ended up sound like a giant dish but anyway good video👍

Great vid! I have a 2020 M340 (only DP and intake at the moment) and consistently see IATs of around 115, even when just cruising in lower temps. Do you think there is an issue, this just feels high to me, but I could wrong. Yesterday, ambient was 45 and once I got warmed up, IAT never really dropped below 110.
@kern4179 ай бұрын
Doesn't sound normal for a stock car. Check and make sure your coolant levels are topped off and there are no boost leaks.
@darrenlewis26019 ай бұрын
@@kern417 Thanks for the reply, Mike from x-ph said the same thing on the forums. I check the coolant all the time and it has remained level between the high and low indicators. I guess I will schedule an appointment to have it looked at. Would you recommend an indy or a dealership? Last question, what would you think a normal IAT would be in these spring temps, just cruising?

@@darrenlewis2601any update? Been dealing with same thing
@darrenlewis26017 ай бұрын
@@Driven_G30 No change unfortunately. I’m still under warranty so I dropped it off at a BMW dealership and let them know what I was seeing. They claim everything is operating normally. I am going to take it to a local BMW shop and see what they say. Now with temperatures up in the 70s and 80s, I still see the same IAT, usually around 115 on average. Ambient temp seems to have no impact whatsoever so it does feel like its programmed to be in that range, but IDK

How much hp/torque can the zf 8 speed handle
@zblazek28 ай бұрын
I have asked MHD this question and they told me that even though 8 speed in 40i is rated for 500Nm, it can easily handle 650-700 with no issues. Doing my own research, it is good to do xHP (transmission tune) with engine tune as well, to avoid clutch slipping and removing factory torque limiters on the transmition.
