Haha! I’m sure Buddha had a Greek god like physique hiding in there; he was just too modest to show it.

I see your slowly coming up to 250k subs. I remember when you were at 80k. The Fit&50 legacy will deserve the attention it needs. Informative, and not like these other fitness channels that have the need to blare music in the background and jump cuts every 1-2 seconds. Seems like more and more people are having Short attention disorders, mainly the younger audiences. I blame TikTok, but that's my opinion.

I love your channel. I'm almost 53 years old. Have a very similar physique as you. I'm 5'10" and weigh 160lbs. Very lean, 6 pack abs, I estimate that my bodyfat level is 10%. I do full-body training 3 days/week, hitting each muscle for 18 sets (6 sets/day) with rep range of 8-12. My nutrition is simple, eat about 1,200-1,400 calories/day, about 50% from carbohydrates (potato, rice, berries), 30% protein (skinless chicken breast, salmon, flank steak, egg whites) and 20% fat coming from the animal meat (I add no oil or butter and don't consume dairy). A few months ago I was 172lbs, but got down to 160lbs to really get lean. My wife says that my face is too thin at this weight. So, like you, I grew stubble LOL. Keep up the great work on your channel.

For some reason my delts always responded best with the upright row when doing whole body Laurence
@Fitand50Formula Жыл бұрын
Upright rows are an awesome exercise for the side delts. I find the 45 degree elbow out row similar, except it is easier on my shoulder joints.

I`ve been watching your channel for a very long time and your content is great. Can you give a two word advice. I am 40 years old. For 30 years i`ve played amateur soccer and that sport fu*кed up my knees. I can`t do neither squats or lunges. What other exercise can I do for leg musculus that do not involve damaged knees.
@Fitand50Formula Жыл бұрын
Watch this video and try the bench squat the way it is demonstrated here is the easiest on the knees that I know of. The Safest Squat (Best for Back and Knees) kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2arhXlsiNNpbpI

Good advice once again! I think standard overhead pressing is a power exercise…not just shoulders, but glutes and AB’s get involved. I find however my lower back can be strained, so if I go heavier I use a bench with back support. Likely my form starts to fail and I arch when standing. Sometimes I simply alternate one arm at a time and that seems to help. Great choice of exercises btw.
@Fitand50Formula Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Gordon. I find the overhead press to be a good movement, and it does pump up my shoulders. What it comes down to for a lot is risk to reward.

My rotator cuffs are feeling it. I thought doing a few minutes of warming them up would solve the problem but no, they are still really sore.
@Fitand50Formula Жыл бұрын
They might need a little more recovery time.
@r.s.334 Жыл бұрын
@Fitand50Formula probably right. They bothered me years ago and then problem went away. Since then I have been doing a few sets before lifting. So disappointing that the problem came back. Should probably for warm-up sets for the lifts instead of right into 3X8 with the last set to failure.

When I do one arm bent over rows Or bent over rows using both arms at the same time I feel more muscle soreness on my shoulders then my back , I don't mind it too much because I want my shoulders to get a workout but I thought bent-over rolls were a back exercise? Or I'm not using proper technique?
@Fitand50Formula Жыл бұрын
They will work rear delts, too. I like the cue to think of rotating your elbow back towards your hip instead of pulling the weight up.
@daysoftheboo Жыл бұрын
@@Fitand50Formula oh so then it's okay if I feel soreness on the back? Yeah the rear deltoid I do feel soreness there, I'll try that pulling the weight towards my hip instead of upward , thank you I'll try that 🙏🏻

Hi - I'm a long time subscriber. I was hoping for some advice regarding my present body composition situation. About 6 months ago I weighed 205lbs @ 25%+ body fat (I'm a male - 49 years old at a height of 5'11"). Since then I went into a caloric deficit while adding in some moderate weight training - plus a day or two a week of incline treadmill walking. I now weigh 169lbs @ approximately 20% body fat. I measure my body fat using 3 different methods (an electric body fat scale - the military/Navy tape measure & height formula method - & body fat comparison visual method using a photo chart online) - collectively all of these methods seem to verify the accuracy of my body fat % numbers. At this point & time I don't feel strong what so ever & I look pretty scrawny. I want to put on some muscle to fill out - but I'm a bit apprehensive about going into a caloric surplus/bulking program - considering that my body fat is still on the higher side at 20%. I'd appreciate some brief & direct advice on how you'd handle my situation - if you'd be kind enough to provide some general recommendations. Thank you :)
@Fitand50Formula Жыл бұрын
You could gaintain at that weight, but it will be harder to visually see the changes with the excess body fat. I’d recommend continuing to be in a moderate calorie deficit until you’re closer to 15%. It will take a bit to get used to the smaller size, but it will be a healthy weight. You can gaintain at 15%, adding in more food as you get leaner or go into a slight calorie surplus. I only try and gain a pound a month, but the standard recommendation is 2 lbs. and then cut again once you reach 20 %
