There was a JP player (I forget who) who had a method similar to what you do at in the beginning half of the video, but he had a second step. After finding a sensitivity you think is good, the next step is to try looking near targets, closing your eyes, aiming at them, then checking to see how close you wind up. The idea is the right sensitivity for you will still perform well without actually seeing the target, because you should be able to aim at anywhere on the screen with ease. It could probably be applied to most steps in this video. Pretty cool.

You sure that wasn't squid school? He talked about that exact thing (maybe during one of his streams if it wasn't a video).

For me, I change mine depending on the weapon I'm playing. If I'm playing a shooter, I usually play on a higher sensitivity, but if I'm playing a charger, I usually do a lower sensitivity. For salmon run, it's always +4,+4 since it helps me so much with awareness because you never know what's gonna show up behind you.

I never change mine, and this good advice. I'm gonna try 4 on salmon run 👍

I set mine to 5-5 almost immediately and just kept it there. Granted I am a range blaster player so I was trying to hit flicks lol.

Pretty much same lol, when I was first learning motion I felt like the camera was super slow and I had to move it a ton to get it to do anything. I would've turned it up higher if I could've. When really, that was just me not being used to gyro aim at all. But max sens is still comfortable for me after hundreds of hours of playing, so I guess it worked out.

Mines 4.5-1 cause I'm used to a slower pan with sticks (tho I could prob add a little bit of sense on sticks lol)

S3 is my first Splatoon and I played it since S3 release, this is how I learnt Gyro personally: I put -5 -5 cause I felt like the camera was just too slippery. I played many many games (turf war and campaign) and try get used to it. It's that you have to *master* the handicapped and start having the thought of "this is way too slow" then I may bump my sens up. Usually I bump it up by like ,5 then I get used to it again. Just this single thing I repeat many times, increase them, get used to them (don't hate them, try master at aiming the best you can), know it's still too slow then repeat until I get to the point where I feel the lack of need to increase them again. I think I landed on 3.5 4.5 after a long while. The journey isn't about knowing it's too slippery but it's to gradually let my hand build up muscle memory overtime as a warm up them slowly push them toward the sens I like. I pretty much locked onto that sens after almost a year of Splatoon gaming and I wanted to share it.

splatoon 3 was my frist splatoon game. i switched to motion 3 weeks into playing the game. i instantly went to 5'5 because i like high sensitivity in pc games so i figured its the same case for controller. this sensitvy works well for me but recently ive been thinking that i should test out different sensitivys. ive noticed that im not aiming as great with one of my weapons I think im overshooting so i might just change it for one weapon to see how that is. im going to go through these drills with dude and see if my thoughts change

I personally use -0.5 5 right now. for a while I used 2 2, but ever since I started using squiffer, I liked having a very sensitive right stick so that I can do trick shots lol

Dam, learned quite a bit here. Just brought my motion sensitivity a little more down and it still feels quite good, but because I play with my hands in the air, it seems like I don't overshoot as hard now. And I got 1000s of hours in Splatoon, hovering around 2400 x. I'll start testing again and adjusting

For me sometimes it depends on what weapon I’m using on how high or low my sensitivity is.

Maybe you won't see this but I have never been able to figure out if reseting the gyro or calibrating it is better. For some reason both of these actions make the gyro feel way different even at the same sensitivity, it feels very weird and I have never been able to know which one people usually use because I never found any info on that lol
@AlexSamaras3 ай бұрын
Am I weird for using different motion sensitivities for different weapons sets? For example, for most shooters and splatlings, I use a motion sense of +1, but for chargers, bows, splatanas, and bloblobber, I use motion 0. For scoped chargers, I have to use -0.5 or I can't keep steady when fully zoomed. And for most dualies, I tend to use +1.5 or +2.0 and I feel better trying to snap to targets coming out of rolls and into turret mode. Oddly enough, this gives me personally a more consistent feel across all the weapons, where as if I stick to one sensitivity such as +1.0 for example, the shooters feel right, but I tend to over-aim my charger shots, bow shots, and charged splatana swipes, and I feel too sluggish aiming dualies. . I keep my sticks at +5.0. . That all said, I am going to spend some time doing the things in this video to see how those drills feel with my current sensitivities. Because I do feel like I'm haven't been improving much lately and am getting owned by a lot of players improving faster than me, so perhaps rethinking / re-assessing my control settings will help. 👍

i think thats very common actually, especally because you play more than one weapon classes.

You need to spin the camera more often as a frontliner than a backliner, so it's natural you need more sens the shorter range you are & lens sens as a backliner who need stable aiming. If you need to flick as a backliner you're prolly in a bad position anyway lol.
@AlexSamaras3 ай бұрын
@@jjQlLlLq Funny thing is, my charger, bow, and splatana flicks are far more accurate at motion 0 than they are at +1. But yeah, it's when I need to track a target to land multiple followup shots, usually from closer range, that I need the higher sensitivity to stay on target. 🙂👍 . Bloblobber is the odd one out for me though. I find I win many more up close fights with it at sens 0 than sens +1. I used to run it at +1 but ended up doing much better with it one day at 0 when I forgot to change my sensitivity after switching from Tristringer. I've stuck with using it at 0 ever since with pretty good success. 😅

Is the up and down gyro sens slower than left and right turning? Planning in getting into splatoon after I bought it and currently playing games that require heavy aiming. I'm practicing using gyro but with a higher left and right sens and a lower up and down sens.

In Splatoon 2 I played with +5 +5, but I don't know what they change in Splatoon 3, but +5 for motion is much faster. A couple a weeks ago, it felt that I over shot and changed it one down to +3.5, but now it feel to slow. I want to revalidate the motion sensitivity again, maybe it goes to +5 as well or back to +4.
