12:10 that happened to me in splatoon 2 5y ago but at the start of the game it was impossible to pop the rainmaker and even after 5min were up it said for around 1 or 2 more minutes 0:00 time left no one lagged or dct though it ended with a draw since no one could pick it up but the game decided that my team lost

as soon as my friend saw the mouse thing he said all splatoon players are cooked

craziest part is that i actually blinked and did not see this kill until the replay. that kill was insane

Same general tactic they do in previous Splatoon titles: hold back features for a successive installment to make that new installment more appealing since they know it's what fans want. It's manipulation and nintendo knowingly does it.

i think it's also that, at least here in the US space, people are so much more toxic. i see people flexing about, say, getting to A or A+ and being genuinely so proud of themselves, and i see all the replies just being "bro A+ is nothing come back when u hit X" like?? idk i dont think that sort of treatment is... encouraging, to say the least. doesnt make me wanna push harder, unless its out of angry spite to "be the bigger guy" but i dont wanna be that kinda guy. i think overall more acceptance and support for us lower levels could make miracles for us. if i had people genuinely giving me advice, celebrating my accomplishments with me, etc., my confidence would prolly push me right up the ranks. but i'm too scared to get myself out there partly for that exact reason.

this has gotta be part of the reason that the only comp option i know about is sendou and everyone regularly on there is so high-skilled that every time i did play i had practically no chance. the only time i actually entered a full setup on sendou (pickup) the ENTIRE thing was loss after loss after loss, it was genuinely just humiliating. and i'm good at the game!! just not X rank levels of good (highest was S rank for reference). but i don't know of any good spaces to do actual comp play that has enough people around my skill level to be able to have even a slight chance. i bring that up with this topic cus i feel like if i could find the right people, or the right content at least, i could start heading in a better direction with people just like me. if there were more of us putting ourselves out there we could possibly MAKE that space for ourselves, and more easily find even-leveled competitors, as well as more coaches willing to help said lower levels like me.

4:35 Wait what do you mean tho? Mouse aim + joystick movement is the platonic ideal of an fps control scheme. A joystick is just better for moving around in 3d space than WASD.

I just got permanently banned from all online play across every single game on my switch for having the username “someone”. The thing I miss most was being able to hit shots similar to these, but nowhere near this level.😢

I'm struggling to see the point "Point and click" type games that benefit from a mouse (e.g. World of Goo) don't tend to need any more precision than using the JoyCon as a pointer already can do. Shooter games are just as good on gyro, it's just a matter of preference - and Nintendo's been pushing gyro since the Wii. If you're a Nintendo fan, odds are good you're comfortable with gyro. If you (all four) 1. didn't grow up with Nintendo 2. do play their games now 3. Mainly play your games on PC, and your Switch 2 is a secondary system 4. Chose to buy a shooter on Switch 2 rather than on PC Then I could see a subset of such people who like mouse controls and merely put up with gyro before. I am certain this group of people exists, but I can't imagine it's more than a few people in a thousand. Bear in mind that Nintendo's primary audience is families - adults who enjoy games aren't a small subset of their audience, but they aren't the main subset either. Little Timmy is not going to play Splatoon with mouse controls.

Finally i'll be able to use this with my Gamecube Keyboard controller for the true PC experience
