I like this plan. But most of that 15lbs gain was not lean contractile tissue. You said earlier it takes longer to grow that tissue. That strength gains likely came from neurological adaptations and the weight coming from increased cell stores, not tissue mass.

i’m a freshman in high school i used to do more body building workouts and gained 20 lb in about 5 months i’m still a very very small guy and i need to gain a lot of weight over this summer and winter would you still recommend building strength and power or focus hypertrophy and power and mix in strength

Both methods are good. To maximize gains, just make sure to hit each body part every about 4 days.

I’m 13 but I divide my regiment in mon,tue power wed,thur strength fri,sat hypertrophy and I went from 88 to 106 pounds in the summer I am still small but im gonna get way bigger. Hopes this helps

You nailed it. Really, weight training is the EASY part, your diet is the HARD part. I would say its really 20% workout and 80% Diet. You are what you eat. And, for some Athletes, its really hard to eat 35/4500 clean calories a day. Nutrition is #1, period.
