After watching your videos 20-30+ times in a row, I get this "aha" moment "Am I really listening to a foreign language?" There's very few Finnish KZbinrs with subtitles, so this is extremely helpful.

I've been hearing Finnish since a child on my own. But the true dedication of speaking and activation of terms have not been so strong. Mainly because I don't have a Finnish community but kiitos I truly love your channel. ❤

For written texts, I've found I learn well with texts that require you to read a story or look at pictures then answer questions / describe things. It gives a practical application to grammar and vocabulary. I started augmenting my work of those with your videos and I love the mix of methods

That's a great tip! Nice to mix it up a bit :)

I like looking up words on wiktionary and reading etymologies and explanations of what's going on with the grammar. It helps me remember words better and understand your videos better. I actually enjoy studying this way.

That's great! Keep doing it then :)) I wish I was so interested in grammar haha

1:30 That's sound relief for me 2:37 You mocked Duolingo without knowing because whole apps like Duolingo and other are loaded with drills 4:14 imagine just watching your video and repeating whole thing with you that would be god level

Hahaha I really didn't mean to mock anyone or anything! Besides, it's not only my opinion, it's backed by science ;)

I think I am in a lucky situation. I have a lot of Finnish classmates in uni now and they love to speak in Finnish, NATURAL METHOD YAY, even though the language study is English. I am surprised that I can understand a lot of what they say. And in two to three years, I will surprise them by speaking Finnish fluently and pretending I always did 😎😎

Haha that's awesome! And a good plan ;)

I actually love cramming vocab!! It's a fun minigame for me, haha. One thing I try to do now, is to use decks on Anki that have many sentences, like hundreds of thousands. I suspend ALL of the sentences, then un-suspend the sentences with my vocab words, so I only study those. That way, I at least am cramming the word with some context. I also sometimes allow cards with specific grammar through, but that's a bit harder to set up.

That's great! Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you so much, can you made videos about how to have more large vocabulary in finish I feel like I'm stuck in level intermediate

My advice would be to broaden your thematic input, so watch videos about different and more complicated topics :)

@finnished Жыл бұрын
Hi! -kin is a suffix that slightly changes the meaning of the word. Here is a video where I explain it and a couple of other suffixes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJ23faGmgdSHoJI

Ehkä 'drills' olisi suomeksi poraaminen tai kirjoittamistoistoharjoitukset 🤔 Omasta kokemuksestani puhuen mä voin sanoa, että "drills"-harjoitukset auttoivat minua oppimaan tiettyjä kieliopppirakenteita ollessani suomen opiskelun alkutaipaleella. Mutten suosittelisi tätä opiskelumenetelmää kaikille opiskelijoille enkä keskittyisi vain siihen.
