as a drummer, I've always assumed XO would be a little redundant for what I'm doing, but holy f*, I was wrong. love the the space view, and I love that you can just drag and drop it into an Ableton drum rack for pads 🤯 so so cool!

This is incredible! Don´t know what to do now - I ´ve already got digitakt, octatrack, ableton and so on and I love making my own samples with field recordings. And now this comes along. I´m 45 but it seems my life is too short to use all this possibilities :D

Thanks for that super nerdy tip. The only thing that's kept me from picking up XO in the past was not being sure if I could process instruments separately (never ever going back to EQing or sidechaining full kits), so I guess this is an option now.
@RokSivante Жыл бұрын
If working in Ableton, can set it up in a drum rack and route to different pads - both for processing each of the 8 sounds separately AND for using Ableton’s standard MIDI clips for more control over patterns. There’s a video on KZbin here that walks through how to setup titled "Using XLN XO inside of Ableton Live Drum Racks Music Production Tutorial."

But but but but, this plugin is so amazing! I spend a lot of time building my beats and I always feel like I'm doing the same thing and struggling to find the right samples. I bought XO about a year ago, but never got to play with it. Your video showed way more than I knew. I have a competing product called Atlas 2,, but I should explore XO more thanks to your excellent demo, and I’ll snag your sample pack when I return from vacation. I am a Logical Pro user, but may bite on the Ableton course once I get some other things done. Many thanks!

I don't get it - all or almost all of these features, including drums presets and a lot of drum sets and patterns, are in Logic Pro X. Plus the Drummer. For free. Why people don't use Logic Pro X instead?

The same applies to Cubase and groove agent and the sequencer reminds me of the beat designer in Cubase. I guess that the AI driven selection of samples could make a difference. Anyway, nicely done video about the software.
@mishagolynskiy99622 жыл бұрын
Great overview, RKC! AI driven sample organizers are a huge game changer! I tried XO and Atlas and landed on the latter for now... but thinking I may get XO in the future, since they have some complementary features. Incidentally did you already explore CR8 and Cosmos from Waves? it's more of a traditional sampler; while XO and Atlas are excellent for percussion, COSMOS has lots of tags for instruments. if you haven't played with it yet, you should check it out! (would love to see how you'd use that tool with your music creation process)

@andreavailati82922 жыл бұрын
There s a way to build exactly the same thing in ableton without the need of this plugin. the real advantage is the space view and the AI analyzer of the samples. Pity there isnt any midi importation to add patterns from midi files
@sabthas19892 жыл бұрын
My No.1 plugin. But why can't XO scan and pick all the samples from our own library? Lets say, a folder with 100 wave files couldn't be entirely picked up. I thought it can pick only "one shots". But sometimes it picks 20 seconds long synth files too. Anybody experienced this?

Several years ago I bought Spectrasonics Stylus RMX and love it to this day. I was always looking for an alternative with a more modern approach but couldn't really find someting similar as great as Stylus. XO could be finally the thing I was looking for. Great video, thanks so much for showing this in detail.
@rateandfollow2 жыл бұрын
Stylus RMX is still a massively useful drum tool and has come to the rescue many times when I'm stuck for a groove, loop or percussive element. The fact you can import REX files from sample packs too is a game change! I like XO but I think Atlas 2 is better and offers more options. Overview video I made on how awesome RMX is :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ7EaIWApaZ7gtU
