Had a 2006 raptor 700 for 9 years. Had stage 2 cam, ported head, full HMF, tuned on a Dyno tunes for power commander, air intake. Had to sell it to a guy in Evansville to pay for a transmission for my dodge diesel, that I no longer have. Stupid diesel trucks! Had 2 yfz's for a couple years. Sold them due to change in job. Now have an Rmax 1000 sport.

I've owned a Raptors 350, 660, 700 and YFZ 450's and the raptors are great if you want general trail riding. The clearance is higher, the torque is great for climbing, getting through some mud, etc. 450's are built for racing on the track. That's what you'll get out of it.

Awesome new ride man. I agree about luggin it around and vice versa, people on the internet always say the YFZ wont lug around the trails but I disagree highly. once i put a vortex on mine it very rarely stalls at all.

The only time the raptor feels heavy is side hills, especially while turning, other than that I prefer the raptor! I own a yfz 450r also

How long should you wait to ring a new four wheeler out

Alot of people say "spirited" riding for the first 10 hours so don't ride super easy but don't ring its neck. Others say it's ready from the factory. I did two heat cycles of 1/2 riding where I got the engine up to temp and then let it cool down completely again, while riding. Then since then I have done 6 or so hours of spirited riding and then threw in on the dyno for tuning so I'm ringing it out now haha

I love my raptor it never gets old riding it. I have 2020. My brother rode mine an had to get one. An got a good deal on a 2013 with the big 3 an A arms an extended axle . It will do 75 mph no problem.

Yep same here you can ride them slower in higher gears but they definitely dont like being lugged especially if you need that instant power on the fly.

I live in new england im torn between one of these or a polaris sportaman 850 i have powerlines and trails here to ride on but hownis the raptor is snow is it good? Update I ended up going with the 2023 sportsman 850 ultimate trail feel as if it will be the best considering amount of snow we get also my first quad so I'm very excited

The raptor is a great quad...even in stock form. Yeah, they are alil more narrow than a 450, but the rest of the dimensions are very similar. The power curves are completely different. The weight everyone talks about...less than 20lb difference

I’ve had raptors since the day the 700 came out, they are awesome. Only think Yamaha could change is sell one with an improved header and exhaust, a stock Raptor is boring and kinda sounds like crap, the machine truly is another animal once you install a full header and exhaust

I definitely agree with you saying that the stock 700 power is kind of comparable to a stock 400 which is surprising but very true. My 330ex will keep up with both in stock form but the 700 pulls away from us on topend but I’m almost neck and neck with the 400

So I noticed that you later responded to another individual that after riding it more, it's barely a comparison. How about choked when you said it was comparable to a 400 and I was like nah wait until he rides it a little bit more and then jump back on a 400. I dyno pull stock machines on my channel and again after they are modified. The 400s that I've dynoed only have around 30 horsepower and a stock Raptor has about 45 which 15 horsepower is huge on a 400 lb machine. 700 and its stock form is untouchable. The only machines that can really beat it stock for stock is... Well nothing lol. Glad to see you added a Raptor to the Wolfpack. Be safe my brother. Hopefully we can ride again soon!

Are you getting nerf bars with the heel guards? Just asking cuz it looks like the people you bought your raptor from didn’t give you the Special edition heel guards but some people take them off anyway to put a full heel guard nerf bar set.

Get razr 2s those stock tires will fold up on you the sidewalls arent strong. Get a houser stem thats a little taller really awesome for stand up riding. Go up 1 tooth front sprocket. Msd blaster

Alot more torque but the chassis is a higher center of gravity than the trx 450. A +2.25 a arm setup really stabilizes it

I bought a Raptor 700 new in 2018(gray and black base model with no add-ons). It had torque for days and pulled like a dirt bike, but was kinda iffy on trails(liked to pull you into pockets and holes, but maybe that's just how it is riding on four wheels). It sat in my shed near the woods a long time after that and apparently had a mouse nest in the airbox when I traded it in on my motorcycle.

Primarily color scheme and a few bolt ons like bumpers and heel guards. Also between the Base model 700 and the 700R, They upgrade the shocks.

Welcome to the dark side brother in my opinion for all around sport quad it don’t get no better then a raptor. Glad to see you liked it once you get more comfortable on it you will really like love it I know I love mine! Just as far as a fci intake and pc5 will open her up a lot then you will start really feeling the power and how it begins to Separate it’s self into a class of it’s own! I upgraded from an Adly 450s hurricane to a 2022 Raptor 700R SE and it was the best decision I have made in a while. Even if it cost me 12 grand. Does anybody know where I can buy the tires that come with the raptor? I really like the profile, since its not super loud on asphalt while being grippy enough for offroading. I cant even find the model on the maxxis website.
