Hey Jarrod! Thank you first of all:) Wanted to ask what price do you estimate for G14 with 4090 and Legion 7 with 4090?
@Luka_Nogalo
@Luka_Nogalo Жыл бұрын
I'd guess at least 3500-4000$ for 4090 machines Edit: Keep in mind that these laptop 4090s are the same as desktop 4080s with the same amount of cuda cores so it's the same silicon and they cost at least 1200€ here in Germany. So adding the laptop around it, factoring in things like new oled/mini led screens, CPUs and a hefty markup below 3000$ would be astonishing

Lenovo really did disappoint, especially on the pro 7. The only new thing that the 2023 pro 7 has is the A.I thing if I'm not wrong ? The 5 pro just had a lid change which is alr I guess, just wish they'd have come out with a surprise. I'm very excited for the M16s release and also it's STRIX series, wish it had gone AMD though. I dont see a point in high hz laptop gaming on old tn panels. Who is buying a laptop to play competitive shooters? The 4k oled options look sooo much better and play regular games fine, since most AAA games are made for 60hz, and plays fast paced shooters good enough to not feel at a disadvantage. The lack of full keyboard is more of a disadvantage.

Such a shame so few AMD advantage laptops announced. Like the case of the G14: I've seen a lot of people cheering for Nvidia GPUs. When they will see the prices the grin will be wiped of their faces. It would be nice if these manufacturers would offer the option to configure the hardware ourselves. Like I get it, some people who want mobility do work that require CUDA, but these are gaming laptops after all, and for gaming Radeon GPUs are fine too and also less expensive.

I am most excited about Razer, IDK what you are talking about. They increased the thickness in order to accommodate for the full 175W TGP. On top of that the Blade 16 has a Dual Mode display that gives you the best of both worlds. 4K@120Hz or 1080@240Hz, nothing beats having those options in a laptop. These new 4090 laptops are going to match desktop 4080s so most have had to go up in size which is why we see 16” being so significant this year. The Blade is finally no longer skimped, having a much lower TGP vs the competition really didn’t make sense.

Quite dissapoiting except the laptops where some AMD CPUs and a little bit of AMD CPU+GPU are featured. It looks like manufacturers are going backwards to offer less AMD Advantage options. Pricing was the issue. Basically, the screen made the price go up too much, but folks werent interested in buying them. Seems in the laptop scene, higher refresh rates at a range of about $1500 - $2000 is the sweet spot. You go above that and its not a big seller, but more of a hyper niche product. Theres also the fact that having 4K 120 screens does put pressure on the battery.

@@tadams587 Trust me, I completely agree with you there, but it is still something that is usually considered. Companies dont want to be that one company with the laptop that cant last less than 3 hours off battery. Take a look at most of them, 3 hours is like the bottom of the barely they are willing to take. Understand that I mean general use, not gaming. A gaming laptops components still utilise a ton of power even when not gaming. But thats just an assumption from my end. There may be other reasons this isnt the norm.

I feel pitty to youtubers and other tech people to promote ancient 10+++nm chips even if it delivers good numbers leaving behind efficiency when we are on 4nm. on both mac and pc and also in gpu side. these 4nm are less than a quarter size of 10nm and use fraction of power making it more mobiler. I now feel gaming laptops chasing numbers is a curse to adopting newer node until it hit a certain clock speed. I hope techtubers will wake from the sleep.

I got a higher end MSI a few years ago, and it was the worst tech decision I ever made. Cruddy plastic and screen hinges, thing is literally in pieces, not even a screen, but still somehow works at least! Won't be buying an MSI laptop again. Was leaning towards Lenovo for their metal chassis + keypad and rear I/O + AMD for longer battery life and 2TB config. (I've always gone intel/nvidia) Just can't decide which version. 6900 slim? New Pro 7 coming out (why the upside down ethernet?!), or the current 7, non slim. If you could pick for yourself, which of those 3 might you go for? It's a tradeoff between form factor/battery/heat/speed/io so there isn't a clear choice for me! Finally, and sorry because I'm sure you've been asked 1000 times, but what is your accent? Your O's are R's and I can't figure it out!

@levygaming3133
@levygaming3133 Жыл бұрын
OLED has better blacks and contrast overall, at the cost of burn in being a consideration. (I’m sure that it’s better than it was before, but it’s still somewhat inherent to the physics of OLED) Mini LED is just an IPS* screen with a better backlight. They get brighter than OLED (most of the mini leds I’ve seen announced are 1000 nits, whereas OLED last year was ~500 nits). You don’t have to worry about burn in. Cons of mini led would be worse blacks and less insane contrast. Mini led might have haloing in dark scenes, that’s something we’ll have to see when Jarred does his reviews.

I agree with your point on Razer on how it's heavier, Razer was meant to be Sleek but portable. But I think the Blade 14 will become the new Blade 15. 16:10 Screen, bigger body overall which means better cooling and *fingers crossed* more upgradability. I have the 2021 blade 14 and it's amazing. But saying that, having the option to have it a little bit thicker to have a full powered GPU. As there older ones like mine and even last year is only 100watt GPU... this makes a difference.. I'd jump at it, not sure why a few people are saying other wise. He didn't go into much detail. They will have full powered GPU, better cooling, especially the 18 which has a third fan. I think the 16 would be a great middle, becuase I've had the 14 for over a year and love it.. but when trying to do productively stuff, the 14 screen can be pretty cramped and hard to read fine print. I'd say the 16 would be really nice for both gaming and work. For me, I would be happy with a little bit thicker. It's the build quality that I love, the steel chassis! Saying that, I got mine $1200 off, if it wasn't for that. I probably would have done MSI again

My brother did got the low-end Victus 15 with the RX6500, which I of course persuaded hard and ended up saving him a couple hundred dollars than buying a similarly spec’d Nvidia+Intel combo. Keep in mind that games running "ultra" settings often times have no noticeable differences from "high" or even "medium" settings, while still costing performance.
