Here I share with you my findings and experience with 6 iconic, classic shaped handbags. I have tried to include popular bags such as the Chanel Coco Flap Top Handle, the Saint Laurent YSL Toy LouLou and the mini Lady Dior. But I’ve also included some others from Loewe, Aspinal of London and of course the Louis Vuitton Alma BB.
These are my personal experiences and I wanted to share them as some of you might be able to decide from this what bags you think you could live with, and therefore, you might rule some out etc.

My relationship with small bags: 1) Use them, struggle through the day getting things in and out. Complain non-stop. 2) Change into a bigger bag. 3) Now the bigger bag feels like they weigh a ton and a half. Complain non-stop. 4) Go back to the small bag. 5) Repeat never-ending process.

This is totally me! And I’d probably add Big bags: large bulky not so feminine look Change to small bag Small and cute, but end up having to carry important papers from work at the end of the day to finish during weekends, struggling to carry them home without damaging them.

Same! I’ve settled on not using anything that’s bigger than my current medium bag so it forces me to clean it out more often 😆... it’s a light bag but feels heavy quickly.

Since you have a Lady Dior lambskin bag and a YSL bag in a similar leather, would you mind sharing your personal opinion on which leather is a bit more durable? I appreciate reviews, because you don't know a bag until you live with it. It is best to learn before you invest if able. Your phone fitting and ease of getting into the bag are top of my requirements for any bag.

Sophie, I agree with you 100%, about included (clip-on) purse straps; almost ALL luxury brands consider them an afterthought. They're either too thin/delicate for the size of the bag (esp. for large bags), ultra-plain/borderline ugly, legitimately poor quality (unsealed edges, paperthin depth, uneven stitching, leather of different quality/grain/dye-lot than bag), or lacking in functionality (e.g. not adjustable, only 2-3 holes for adjustment, etc.). I ALWAYS check the strap with the same rigor I do the bag. I occasionally purchase an additional strap for better functionality, as I'm 5'9"+, & most straps are too short for my liking. Unfortunately, I have also purchased additional straps, b/c the included ones would have been untenable for daily use. I adore large & oversized bags, & sometimes the weight of the EMPTY bag, is enough to make the laughably-narrow strap dig in uncomfortably. It always angers me, when it feels like no one even bothered to try on the bag WITH the strap, before the combination was signed-off...Unless, it's ALL just a nefarious plot, to get us to buy overpriced additional straps w/our bags ;).💋

I’m so in love with the Alba BB in the Damier Ebene. I don’t ever leave home without a bottle of water so it’s a bonus for me too if I can fit one in my bag. I just think that this bag is so great for the money when some of the bags you’re comparing it to are double or more the price. I suggested to my friend to buy the metal chain from Coach to use with her toy YSL LouLou and she said it really enhanced the look and made the purse look more luxe. I bought the nicer thicker strap for my Prada top handle. The skinny strap it came with wasn’t proportionate to the weight and size of the bag. Sometimes it feels these designers really skimp with the strap.

I want to be like you. You made your career, fought personal battles, have amazing make up skills and are a genuine person. And I know all of it is hard work and sacrifices. I on the other hand waste my time on KZbin videos and teach in an elementary school with really bad salary. I want to be a writer, but I cant complete a single story I begin. Hi Dollie, I think you’re being very, very hard on yourself here ❣️For one, it takes immense skill to be able to teach - not anyone can do it. The fact it’s not so well paid is something that I find to be intolerable in our society, and I feel the same way about nurses etc. It seriously bugs me because we need you guys doing your hard work, and you should be paid accordingly. So please know this; you’re helping those kids and some of them will remember you as their teacher long into the future!! As for your writing; I actually can relate a bit to this as it’s a creative skill and you have to be in the right mood to be creative! You can force yourself, but it’s not the same. Could it be that perhaps you are fatigued/fed-up and need a little break from things for the writing to return? I get this block with my work and it makes life hard - I go skiing at an indoor ski centre when I feel uninspired and it always gives me a buzz after!!! Not sure if any of this helps, but I hope so xx😘😘💖💖

This is a great review and I love the LouLou Toy and the Chanel. What I like about these small bags is that one can put them on the dining table. Also, I have small transparent makeup bags that fit into a small bag and I really prune what I put into a small bag. I also have card holders and change purses that come in handy with a very small bag. Mind you, the Loewe rabbit and the Aspinal (a brand that a lot of people love now) and the Dior one are all too small to be practical.
