Thanks for showcasing Watson. He deserves the recognition. He’s in the best situation ever w/ Malone, Jokic, Murray and the overall system the Nugs run for all to succeed.

I'd say the potential/ceiling is higher with the current bench. But consistency and performance, they have some work to do to match what the bench did last season.

From what I've heard, the coaches at UCLA had nothing against Peyton, knowing that he was hugely talented, but they had great upperclassmen players who he wasn't going to take minutes from as a freshman.
@asherlevynba2 ай бұрын
Yeah, they had a lot of upperclassmen come back that they weren’t expecting to be back so it led to a log jam

As a Nuggets fan, we are stoked about Peyton Watson. He's bought into coach Malone's system and with every game he plays, is becoming an important part of Malone's system. They sky is the limit for Swatson!

I have a feeling he will be a key sub come playoffs and that next year, we will see a force. This guy, Braun and Strawther are going to keep the championship window open for a number of years.

I came across your video today, and really enjoyed it. I will definitely be subscribing. I'm a huge P-Wat fan. He did a very good interview on the DNVR Denver Nuggets podcast recently, and comes across as a very introspective, well spoken and intelligent young man who has earned the respect of his teammates and Coach Malone. In that interview, he stated that Jokic has taken him under his wing. P-Wat explained that he's trying to read the game better, and approaches Joker about what he sees and if he's reading the floor correctly. When P-Wat is on the bench, Joker will go down and sit next to him when he's off the floor and they'll discuss what they see. Peyton stated that he learns from his mistakes and never wants to repeat the same mistake again, and I appreciate that about his work ethic. I think the future is bright for this young man, and I can't wait to see what he does in the future! Also, you commented about doing a KCP video. I would love to see that! I don't think he gets enough attention for what he does as a defender.

the more interesting fact to me is the team took a chance on Watson, IE coach and management. Whats more interesting is Watson is absorbing how to be a team player rather than an individual player as the whole of the NBA has not always adopted. The fact of the matter is, in the 1940 to early 1980's an NBA team needed at least five solid starting players and a solid bench to be a great team. This changed when the Lakers only had 3 great starting players and a solid bench behind them... Further proven when the Chicago Bulls only need 3 great players along with the triangle offence and 2 decent defenders, along with a bench that was just decent enough to make a difference.. (yea I know thats going to piss people off) Even Lakers with Kobe and Shaq and a (Insert solid NBA player) along with Phil Jackson as the HC? the point is, Lebron understood this way of winning and once he got out of cleveland he started to demand the same setup as the late 80's and 90's and thats when he started winning starting with Miami Heat and moving forward While that formula worked up until recently (2023) It appears the NBA has gone full circle and have no idea how to deal with a throwback team of the 40's 50's and 60's type of team work.. The NBA views this type of game play as boreing, lack luster and uninspired. what the NBA seems to have forgotten is those times produced the greatest teams, greatest players, and greatest coaches that were ever produced. IE the Celtics, Bill Russell, and Arnold Jacob "Red" Auerbach... All that said is to point out the Nuggets are doing the exact same thing that was done in the 40's, 50's and 60's through teamwork of 5 players and a solid bench and it is working!

For Sure! I have been watching Watson and he is so fortunate to be with the Nuggets...first he has Malone coaching and really pushing and directing Watson to get the most out his potential. Second, Nuggets culture is about as wholesome and team oriented as it comes...great character development for a beautiful NBA career....great Veterans on bench...generous men the starting 5....He is improving every month...They want him to be a key component of the franchise into the future. I hope it happens for him. He seems like a great kid and a consummate competitor.
@Pickn4Gold2 ай бұрын
I hope KCP wants another run at a title more than a few million more to play somewhere else, but I won't judge him for getting paid one last good contract if he chooses this offseason. Watson still needs to just let the game come to him on offense and stop forcing the issue, but he seems to be taking coaching well so I'm hopeful he can round into a solid starter in 3 years for KCP, MPJ, or AG if one gets a great offer(trade or free agent).
@asherlevynba2 ай бұрын
I think they’ll get KCP back, they have his bird rights so they can pay him whatever and they’ll want to keep him.
@Pickn4Gold2 ай бұрын
@@asherlevynba true, but then they also go into the next cap apron and lose the mid level exception I think if I remember their cap space. I guess at that point it depends on how much faith they have in Pickett or another young PG they could draft or trade for or if they need to use the MLE for a Bruce or Reggie again to backup Jamal.

i think cb will replace kcp just because of fit with the other 4 starters. If we were replacing AG or MPJ it would definitely be PWAT. KCP's most important role in playing incredible defense on the elite small players in the nba. The currry's, trae youngs, shai, devin booker etc..., and against that specific group of players. Braun is a better defender than PWAT. Overall tho it definitely does look like PWAT will develop into the better overall player on both ends of the floor. Although post all star break chritian braun has quitely been playing incredbile basketball all around.
