I wanna be that guy now too, but Akira Himekawa is working on a new original fantasy manga called Kamudo so if anyone really likes the Zelda manga you'll probably like this too. The Twilight Princess manga takes what was already a good story, and expands on it HEAVILY. Characters get more focus, story beats are added in to better suit the pacing, Link is even MORE of a character in this and his relationship with Midna in it is somehow even better. Damn, we need more game manga like this. Oh yeah, they gave Link a BACKSTORY that ties to the main story which is CRAZY. That wasn't even there before!

That's one thing I have to give to Nintendo is the fact that they gave so much Liberty to the manga artists and writers for their series. I feel like pretty much every Nintendo manga that's come out has expanded on the lore and given more context to different characters and story lines. That's really appreciated. I think a lot of people sleep on them since they think they're just a straight adaptation when they end up telling the story sometimes better than the games do

The Zelda manga's have always been a HUGE part of my childhood. I owned the Ocarina of time volumes, Oracle volumes and the Minish cap manga, they're so cool. Akira Himekawa taught me a lot about manga and drawing in general. Seeing my favourite youtuber talk about such a niche subject is fucking AWESOME.

As a fellow TP Manga glazer I'm super excited you're making this video and I remember bringing it up when you made your TP Video so its nice to see a video on the manga itself. I think the best part of the whole manga is how the art really captures the emotions of the scenes and character. LIKE I LOVE THAT PANEL AT 14:55 SO GOD DAMN MUCH OF LINK. His expression on that panel with his snarky attitude is just SO FUCKING GOOD. I said it on that video but this Link is MY FAVORITE. That is tough competition cuz Four Swords Adventure has 4 dumbasses that play off each other perfectly in the manga as well and he beats those 4 doofuses singlehandely and I love those dorks. There's so many things in that first manga volume that tell you, this is a gonna be a true piece of art and that arc in that village really is one of those proving points.

I'm suprised you didn't talk about Midna besides her design. While being the most fleshed out companion in any zelda game, in the manga we actually see more of the princess aspect of her character that never really got explored too too much!

We would hunt down every volume we could possibly find at library booksales and discount bookstores until we had every single one. Twilight Princess was such a hyper fixation for me growing up and link in TP was my biggest crush. Any fanfiction about this game hated to see me coming lol. So you know I loved these mangas. I never made the connection that they were reminiscent to berserk in some parts. Berserk is one of my favorite medias ever, so I need to get new copies of these mangas to read again! My only complaint is that it´s "only" 35 minutes long, meaning instead of my usual rewatch of like 5 times a week, I need to increse the rewatches on that, to compensate for that loss! Funny enough that you now advertise the Zelda manga´s , with especially this one. I just started reading december last year and because of that, MY MUM actually gifted me to christmas 2023 a big Zelda manga collection with a lot of manga´s and now I´m only lagging the Twilight Princess manga. xD The other´s I have read and I can confirm that they truly are a treasure to read, I even took them to the bath tube with me, just to simulate that I would sit in the zelda tp kakariko hot spring´s on the top of the mountain villages.

I’ve actually read some of the Zelda manga! Not just twighlight princess, but the big omnibus ones, like ocarina if time, majoras mask, a link between worlds etc. one of my fondest memories was reading the oracle of seasons manga with my sister in the doctors office. The spine broke over and the pages eventually fell out, but we still have it and I’m glad we still keep it around. So yeah, good times, good times.

I remember getting the first volume from a book fair in 7th grade and I was hooked instantly! I kept collecting the volumes as they came out. They really got me through tough times during high school. It’s become my favorite manga of all time and I’m so happy to see it getting more love lately. As I read it, I always thought that if TP gets a remake, they should include some of the story elements. Anyway really great video!

I played TP for the 1st time not too long ago & I loved it. It is my 1st direct zelda experience & I honestly think everythin bout it peaked zelda for me. Like I don't think there's another in the series I'll love more lol. Not too long after I heard bout the manga & I binged the entire thing & was completely sunk in from page 1 to the last panel for exactly everythin u state here. They add so much to relationships, concepts & moments from the game. I think the absolute best experience is to play the game & read the manga right after. They compliment each other for wut the other may lack(which on either end is honestly not a lot considerin wut each were goin for as experiences but they still add exponentially to 1 another regardless). U point out the greater focus for a personality & more specific story arc for link as a character & like I said I agree but I think the way they do it is cool too & mixes well wit wut Link is in the games in most instances but especially TP. To me it feels like the type of personality they gave him still fits within the role of the sorta self insert type he's partly supposed to be in the game. He reacts to & thinks of most things in ways almost any player would. So u can still feel how he feels or thinks in most cases similar to how ur thoughts can color ur journey as link in the game(hope that made sense lol). I have very similar critiques like the bosses bein mostly skimmed over or changes in moments I didn't think were necessary but it's part of Y it's best to experience both. I loved wut they did wit the final fight & the things they brought up there. It felt like they took things nintendo didn't fully put in TP & made it such a core aspect of the entire relationship between all the characters in a way the game feels like it was a lil afraid to fully touch on. Also the last few bits wit Midna I didn't think they'd add to in the way they did it through me way off guard lol. The game & the manga R so good I could talk bout both for hours. I wish they could take both & make an anime out of em. It'd be beyond peak!

Received this game for Christmas 2006, while not the first Zelda game I ever played it was the first one that was mine and I was able to complete from start to finish. To me this will always be the proper Zelda formula, and I'd love to see a return to it in a future game.
