If you think expectations are getting ridiculous now, imagine when VR becomes the norm. Personally, I appreciate all these different styles in their own way, just depends on the mood I’m in. I always enjoy going back to pixel art games.

I can't say I enjoyed air gear. Certainly not as much as you. But I was down bad for shounen manga and I didn't like dropping things midway. Still for all the faults I recall having with it, the character of the 2nd in command, that guy has still stuck with me to this day. The short guy,. To this day, anytime i start thinking of underdogs he pops up in my mind.

I know I'm a year late to this trip down memory lane but wow bro. It's rare for me to be 100 agreed, but your review was perfect. You covered good and the less good gracefully. Air Gear has been my all time favorite anime from the moment if saw the first episode. It's the reason I started rollerblading and eventualy longboarding when I couldn't source hypno detachable rollerblades anymore. And you're not crazy, riding what ever wheels we had made us feel free. We'd ride around everywhere and we got pretty damn fast and we traveled pretty damn far. I miss that feeling and air gear and it's soundtrack definetly bring me back.

100% agree, influence and borrowing things from other creators is all about execution. If it's too close to the original to the point it may as well be a remake or reinterpretation, then it's not really "your own thing". I've been putting off watching Paprika for a while, I'll be watching that soon so thanks for putting that segment in there!

The top comments are all on point, but I think something unsaid needs to be said; you're very lucky that your life put you through that arc at such a young and relatively speaking safe age. I had this point in my life between the ages of 23 and 28, and it fucking SUCKED. It wasn't the same of course (different age, different life, similar beats), but that point of being broken and having to rebuild and discover your true self... facing your shadow and accepting it takes serious guts, no matter the age. I, too, am lucky, but more because I have a solid support system that caught me when I was about to spiral out of control. All in all, facing your shadow and owning it is one of the hardest but most validating experiences of one's life. 🫡 I'm new to your channel, I found you from the pixel art/low poly vid. I enjoyed it decently, but wasn't sure if I'd like your channel overall because I was feeling like it dragged a bit too much on the gushing without much substance (not meaning to throw shade, it was just my first impression.) Now that I've watched a small handful of videos, I'm happy to say I was dead wrong, and I'm going to be watching a bunch more videos before the month is out. You're a real one, never forget that. 😁👌

Shrines aren't dungeons. They aren't even mini-dungeons. They're mini-games. Brief, one-use mini-games.
@midgetydeath2 күн бұрын
I think the best way to solve the "too much space, so copy-paste" problem open world games face is to make the things (dungeons, caves, whatever) much larger to fit neatly together in a zone. That way, you don't need to think up as many variations to keep them interesting and you don't need to copy-paste to fill space. You can use collectibles with their own rewards that help complete these dungeons/caves/challenges within a zone to also help players complete these things if it's too hard or choose not to participate if they want to increase the challenge. Which also would replace a difficulty setting.

I will honestly never understand why ppl tend to hate on graphics like the world is gonna end if games dont look like how we see the real world. I play on Nintendo switch (those who dont know for whatever reason, 30 fps with 720p graphics idk lol) and the games look perfectly fine. For me, as long as the game can run and it has good or even decent gameplay, its all good. Graphics dont mean anything to me and i dont care if i see pixels.

It always boggled my mind that Pokemon is the one major game franchise in which the worlds inside the games actually became smaller when it made the jump to 3D when the opposite tends to happen when other franchises do it.

I remember being sooo excited on th route leading up to Ballonea, I had been bored up until then but wanted to finish the game. Loved the aesthetic and then... nothing? One guy to talk to and the gym. It's pretty but empty, which is how I felt about most of that game. The only reason I keep up with pokemon is for my 9 year old little sister who adores it. And the region she's designing is better made then any modern game.

"There's a windmill here!" How's that for lore If I'm going to get copypasted rooms with 3D pokemon, less content overall, I'd rather they just go back to the B/W era pixels. Alfornada has its own content in its name. Nada.
