I felt the same way about the Fuji 16-80. It had so much potential but was soft, lacking micro contrast, etc.I also have the Nikon ZF, and appreciate this perspective. I had a feeling that the 24-120 would feel a bit awkward on that body. I used to own the 24-70 f4 and it was always amazing, its really a great deal right now.

@@pnwtim503 I did think the 24-120 was ok on Zf. Right on the edge. A little bit bigger and it would be a no go. But long term it might feel to awkward. But worth a try.

Scratching the front element - that's why i always have a filter on all my lenses. Last year in Japan i had my filter damaged so just went to a nearest photo equipment store and bought a new one - and saved a day. Some people say that UV filters impact lens quality though, not sure about that

It’s such a great focal length, but I didn’t’ dare to buy it because some KZbinrs talked it down a bit. Worth a second look then.

@RH-adventure Not a S quality, but serves its purpose as a travel lens on my ZF. If I opted for Z8, I wouldn't mind bigger S lenses.

What about 70mm+, do you have a zoom lens in mind? Maybe something like the Tamron 70-300?

@@pnwtim503 I’m still thinking about that. I have a 18-300mm Tamron for Fuji and it’s pretty good. Small and light, so maybe a Tamron. Right now I’m using a vintage Pentax 70-200, super small.

@@RH-adventure I am having the hardest time deciding on a telephoto (especially since coming from Fuji). All the lenses seem massive for the ZF, and if they are small they either require adapting or compromise IQ.

@ I have the exact same problem. Nikon lenses are often huge. I kept a tiny fuji X E3 just for that reason.

Actual retail price now in Germany is between 800-900 Euro . But how would get it for this price when getting it 2nd hand for a third 🤣
