Even as an atheist Chris still gets my interest to Christianity
@lile86023 жыл бұрын
I love that you are open to hearing from people who have different point of view. I have met so many atheists who are as close minded and dogmatic as the Christians who bug them so much. We can all benefit from listening more and trying to understand each other, even when...epecially when we disagree. I hope you continue to comment and challenge all of us who may not share your personal beliefs.

Not an Atheist . A Christian who is a tad upset at God. For everything. Life as an atheist . A life without hope , a life with beginning a middle and an end : but an honest life Life as a Christian ? Same but eternal . I m not going to rant . Rev Chris takes your stress levels down Richard

Same. I’m more of a polytheist who is open to the idea of all religions having truth in them. But the catholic priests I had to listen to during childhood were logical enough and well-spoken, so I have a soft spot for priests with that sort of balanced demeanor.

For anyone interested, I would advise you that Christianity has alot of pagan traditions that Jesus(his real name was Yeshua) did not teach. I would learn from linguists what the original Hebrew and Greek of the bible says and learn about the cultures the bible was written in, the settings, audiance, etc. Put yourself there, see from God's loving perspective. To understand the bible better. Some things the bible says in Hebrew and Greek are different than the english. Mostly just go pray to Jesus to learn what it all means, and stay humble to always be teachable. No-one has the bible figured out, until Jesus comes. But salvation we know is by grace. Jesus is God and religion makes things hard. Ephesians2:8-10 says we are saved by Grace through faith, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. We trust in Jesus and are saved, we cannot do anything to get saved. Trust in him as you're salvation, not yourself. Remember the bible is a science book, it must be, because life works with science. It's also a book about psychology, and all of life. And the point of God's word and commands is for our good. So we should try to understand it that way. Do not believe young earth creationists, they base their science on misunderstandings of the english bible text.

@@ocean7849 ooh good idea! But, *me* preaching and posting vids like that?? 😮 wow that's a big step of faith to not fear what others would say or the hate you might get, etc And how to reach more people? I know Rev Chris being friends with the folks on the JOLLY channel helped spread his influence a lot! 🤔🥰
@ocean78492 жыл бұрын
@@ajesusencounter8261 True. My advice: Just be a good person/christian. People will talk about you and will wonder why you are such a good person. Then you can tell them you act in God's will and that will show people Gods greatness and love. Of course you could also talk to friends of yours, who do not believe in God. But I myself like the idea of just behaving in a good way plus telling people you do it because of God (if they ask you that is) most. It is obviously easier said than dond. But I know God will help you, if ask him, so don't be shy askung God for strength and wisdom. That said, have a nice day and God bless you and your loved ones

I am an atheist, have been since I was 12 even thought I grew up in a rather religious culture, but I find myself keep coming back to reverend Chris's videos. The way he speaks it makes me feel like I am receiving a hug. Even though I don't believe in God, for some very odd reason I find it comforting that Chris believes I am loved by his God. I can't even explain this.

The first time i started to read the bible was 8 years ago, when i was a muslim. And i honestly, it was so hard to understand. So so hard. It was written in my own language but i felt like it was written in another language i have never heard before. I didn't get the message, the meaning of the passage, i didn't understand anything at all. So strange. I was not Christian so maybe i read it without faith, without humbleness, without willing to know Jesus. Then i started to go to church, i thought i'll just let the priest read and chew it for me. Lol. I got baptized 3 years later in 2015. The lesson i learned is that reading the bible is not like reading a novel nor scientific journals. You need guidance from Holy Spirit and connection with God to be able to fully understand it. God bless.

So I just want to say thank you! I was definitely planning on reading the Bible one day with a completely open mind and this only gives me all the more reason to do so.

@ajesusencounter82612 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, Lillian! God loves you and He wants the best for you. He's always there for you and all it takes is to turn to Him. I found a prayer method at my church that works really well: 1. Gratitude- thank God for the good things in your life 2. Repent- repent (that means to admit when you messed up, and to turn and change) of every way you have not trusted God in your life. If you went into fear, anxiety, or trusted in yourself to be more capable of solving something than God (trust me, I've been there), repent. Tell God how you're sorry for not trusting Him and for making any decision that you're not proud of or that's been nagging at your mind. 3 Conform me - tell God you want to Him to turn you into what He wants 4. Father's desire- start speaking His will over your life "Father whatever your will is for my life, I just come into agreement with that right now. Lord, whatever you have for me, I surrender to it, and I just speak Your will, Your desire, Your blessings over my life right now, in the name of Jesus." 5. Thankfulness- thank Him for the changes He's made in your heart Personally I've found step 2 to be the most impactful! Blessings in your prayer life ❤

Excellent message. My church recommends we read a more modern language version of the Bible as we are tasked with reading through the Bible in a year. Since churches are not fully open where I live, we connect via Zoom for church on Sunday, a noon time prayer meeting on Tuesday, a Wednesday night Bible study and a Thursday morning Ladies Bible study. All this has deepened my faith. Many blessings Rev Chris on you & your family. 🙏

I love that you're delving into the Bible, explaining to those who maybe wouldn't listen otherwise. The Bible for centuries was considered a great literary work, even if you were not a follower of Christ. This is not so anymore, because a lot of Christians actually don't understand the depth of the Bible nor do unbelievers intend to understand the purposes of the Scriptures. What is really neat is that over 1500 years and numerous authors the same message (also storyline, word pictures ect) are weaved together seamlessly and without contradiction. All glory to our God for that! (And I get blown away by book series that weave together a plot over numerous books that don't even take a lifetime. It's incredible how God has ordained his Word.) The whole point of the Old Testament is to point to our need for the coming Savior who is Jesus Christ. Some don't see that and I'd imagine for unbelievers it would seem pretty boring if you don't understand the point. I pray that this be profitable to those who hear and that you will stand on the Word of God, even when others may look down on/attack you for what God's Word proclaims. Anyway, grace and peace to you from God the Father.

We are doing a course on the bible in my teen Sunday school class, and it's really nice to see that people want to teach about what the Bible is. It's full of fascinating stories, love, hardship, suffering, joy, and faith. I feel as though if people really understood that the Bible isn't just a book of rules and laws but stories true and parables, that could help resonate they're need for Him. Thank you Rev. Chris, this was truly lovely.

Greeting from Singapore Father. What you have said about Islam looked up to the Bible is totally the truth. The Bible was indeed one of the four Holy books in Islam, including Taurah and Zaboor. The Qur'an is holiest book in Islam to all Muslim. So does the Bible to all Christian. That is why all of us should unite to protect and preserved the holiness of this books. Humans, after all are bonded with the same faith and came from the same believe to Adam and Eve. So, all humans are related I presumed.

The Protestant bibles have the exact same new testament. The difference is that the catholic old testament includes 7 books which protestants don't have . These 7 books are not accepted by protestants because they were only written in Greek and therefore they do not considered them to be part of the hebrew bible.
