It's also a testament to his shameful level of reading comprehension and competence. It's simultaneously naïve and arrogant for Ron to presume that he was misunderstanding the words and alleged messages in the Bible, and that it must have some hidden meaning that required someone with "expertise" to show it to him. The embarrassing truth is that Ron is an intellectually stunted infant who was indoctrinated to believe ancient unproven claims BEFORE he ever learned how to properly reason. I'll bet my entire life savings that if Ron or the world's foremost cleric presented this drivel to 100,000 adults who never grew up with religious influence or we're exposed to it culturally in any significant way, that over 95% of those adults would find it unconvincing. Yes, man's religion is folly. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, no man shall know the Father except through him. No religion needed. Just faith, faith plus nothing. If a man says he has never done wrong/sinned he is a liar and truth is not in him. We are not sinners because we sin, we sin because we are sinners. We inherit a condition - a sinful condition and Christ Jesus is the only one who has the cure.

@@ronhansen8471 Utter nonsense. To do anything "with understanding" means having sufficient knowledge and experience to make sense of what one reads. A child of 5 has no understanding of sophisticated themes, which is why schools don't teach Shakespeare in kindergarten. Many fundamentalists seem to reject much of what is out there to learn because their pastors tell them it contradicts the holy book, so they are never allowed to reach "understanding".

However I have to disagree with your comment on 5 year olds not having understanding of sophisticated themes. There are many youngster who understand for example the concept of advanced mathematics, my wife and her daughter could read well at 2 years old. I know some children who have a pretty good vocabulary and understanding of their world. However when in comes to God's word the bible there is only one interpretation and only those people with God's spirit will be able to understand what it teaches and why. To those who do not have God's spirit will see the bible as a fairy tale book or will interpret it to fit their life style. Others interpret the bible to fit their educated biases. There is nothing wrong with getting and education or learning science with a few exceptions. What it boils down to is that each person needs to make a choice which way they will go and stick to it. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I have made the choice to serve my God Jehovah based on the truth not on the lies and deception being taught by the worlds religions. Soon all religions will be gone as stated in the book of Revelation chapter 17 and the issues going on with Ukraine, Russia, Briton and the US is noted on Daniel chapter 11. in this instance the king of the North is Russia and the king of the South is the Anglo/American world power.

@@ronhansen8471 Children, no matter how brilliant, simply lack the world experiences which form the basis for "understanding" complex abstract concepts. For this reason we do not allow children to make binding legal decisions until 18 or 21. You must know that a claim that "there is only one interpretation..." is utterly meaningless without concrete evidence. Every sect claims that theirs is the only correct one. There is absolutely no possible way to discern who, if anyone, has "god's spirit" without presenting concrete evidence. Which exactly are "the few exceptions" to getting an education and learning science? The things that contradict your religious dogma? A few thousand people have been killed in Ukraine. Surely World War II was a better signal for the "end times" with its 65,000,000 victims, and yet, here we are! The end times are definitely coming, but you are off by about 4,500,000,000 years. Some scholars suggest, for example, that the book of Daniel as we have it in our Bibles today was the product of multiple redactions and additions to the text, the original only comprising 2:4b-7:28, which is the Aramaic portion of the text. The irony of this entire discussion is the fact that while I grew up in a religious household, what slowly drew me away from the faith was reading the Bible and realizing that a lot of parts in it don't sound like they come from a being beyond humanity; but rather men writing what they think such a being is like. For example, being jealous that other gods are being worshipped. You'd expect an omnipotent, omnibenevolent being would be beyond such pettiness.

The true God is not human with human feelings. Remember us humans were created in God's image not the other way around. God's jealousy is not with the envious, selfish jealousy of humans. It is a jealousy, a zeal or ardor for his holy name, concerning which he himself says: “I will show exclusive devotion for my holy name.”-Eze 39:25.

His claim is also flawed. God starts as a primitive wind spirit that creates technically without being anthroprophized but contradicts that by making humans in his image. Also having a body that Adam and Eve can see and which walks, he has breath, the forms things with hands, he has a backside, he has feet that he needs a footrest for, he wrestles a guy. He Also said god wasn't a god of some specific people. The Bible implies that all people are technically the same thing and god made them but he eventually picked one tribe at random and was all about them. He's just a tribal god and not even a good one. Marduk was a better tribal god. Ashur. Shamash. Zeus. Jupiter. Fuck, Tengri had the largest empire of the ancient world. While on the Mount of Olives he walks into a place called Wine/Olive Press (Gethsemane) and in Luke he gets pressed (...giant drops of blood falling down to the ground) It's Jokes! In John 21 is when Titus Flavius fools the Jewish rebels into referring to him as Lord. It's all connected to Josephus Flavius', The Wars of the Jews. In The Wars of the Jews Titus kills a rebel leader named "Jesus" during a sea battle where he was "fishing for men" in the Sea of Galilee and then in John 21 he takes his identity. The Wars of the Jews is in a literal sense, interconnected. The Gospels, along with Wars of the Jews are about viciously mocking the defeated rebellion, especially the leaders, of the Roman-Jewish War of 66AD - 73AD and elevating the Flavian Dynasty to Gods and Lords. Caesar's Messiah by Joseph Atwill does a great job of revealing this satirical system incorporated in the Gospels. Also, Lazarus is Mary's "Good Portion" that shall not be taken away from her." The Hebrew Tanakh is the Old Testament. The Tanakh has 24 books. The difference lies in the fact that some books of the Tanakh have been divided into multiple books in the OT like Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, Ezra-Nehemiah, and the Twelve Minor Prophets. Protestant bibles contain 39 books in the OT while the Catholic bibles have 46 and some Orthodox bibles may have more. The Torah is effectively the Pentateuch or the first 5 books of the Old Testament. The Tanakh is basically divided into 3 parts (law, prophets, writings) while the OT is divided into 4 (Pentateuch, Old prophets or history), writings, latter orophets).
