When i watch wendigoon's religious videos it instantly reignites my love for religion and reminds me how interesting and amazing it can be. Secular humanism has infiltrated every foundation of our culture including higher entertainment, so that's a factor, but another factor is also how rigid and unadaptive us Christians have been, when it comes to spreading God's word. If we return to our intellectual, mystical and spiritual roots, like our super smart ancestors who shaped modern Western civilization, we'll be able to gain a lot of ground. Remember, we have an advantage that they will never be able to take away or utilize themselves, despite their best attempts to make Christianity out to be a shallow myth by generalizing all of our ancestors as dumb primitives, we have thousands of years of inertia and intellectual and spiritual thought to draw from. I also think this is why figures like Bishop Robert Barron, Jordan Peterson and William Lane Craig are becoming so popular amongst young men now, who are, by the way, kind of converting back to faith despite being young. Society's screaming out for intellectual and spiritual depth in this culture of nihilism, hedonism and mindless entertainment and pleasure, let's give it to them!

Maybe Leviathan started in Eden but eventually had to go to the sea, and Creation’s time limit is how long it takes to grow 300 miles.

There's a web comic I read called Order of the Stick. It's basically just a long running d&d story. There's a point where it's revealed that the metaphysical big bad is an entity that has destroyed countless universes that the various pantheons have had to rebuild every time in hopes of eventually stopping it. My brother has also wondered if other planets in real life, barren as they are, were previous worlds that God did stuff on, and Earth is just the current chapter in some inconceivably long story.

Regarding Judas, I like the theory that he was an accelerationist revolutionary. This states that Judas saw Jesus as King of the Jews, who had come to free them from the Romans, and literally conquer them. He grew impatient and sold Jesus out, not for the money, but to force his hand against Rome. When Jesus let himself be arrested and killed, it shattered everything Judas believed, so he took his own life.

There is a pretty cool theory on the pronunciation of YHWH. It is often pronounced as YaHWeH, most likely because us humans seem to have a preference for vowels. However, some scholars and Rabi’s have come to notice that the letters YHWH represent the sounds of breathing. When pronounced without intervening vowels it sounds very similar to breathing. YH (inhale): WH (exhale). This could be the reason that it’s considered unspeakable because it is intended to be breathed instead of spoken. So that would mean from our first breath to our last that we are speaking the name of God. God has also given us breath so that would mean that this is a constant reminder that we are alive because of God. He is our breath of life, our life sustaining power.
@bigol92236 ай бұрын
I find it interesting how if we were to pronounce it with vowels, Yeshua and Jehova could be considered the same word in slightly different accents, such as might evolve within the same language over the course of a few thousand years. I don't think I've ever heard anyone discuss this.

Really interesting note on the JHVH or YHWH name of God. I’ve done a lot of research on this because it fascinates me and some of the most prominent Hebrew scholars actually think that this wasn’t an attempt at recording a Hebrew name but the recording of a sound. In proto-Hebrew the pronunciation of the YHWH name of God has a shockingly close resemblance to the sound of breathing! First inhale, then exhale. Meaning that the name of God is life itself and the breath that living things take is how it is pronounced.

@Mr.MoneyBags1 Жыл бұрын
@@lalonguecarabine4952 while you’d be right that there isn’t a “J” in Hebrew, we’re not really dealing with modern Hebrew. We’re in a much older writing system called Proto-Hebrew or sometimes called late Phoenician. In that writing system, there actually is a “J” equivalent letter “Iamed” that corresponds to an “I” in modern Ashurit script. It’s shaped like a backwards English “J” which could be used as shorthand when abbreviating this spelling. Similar to the Latin pronunciation, scholars believe it was pronounced closer to a “y” sound than a “J”.

My name is one of the few traditional (ie not one of the recent made up names like Neveah) names that isn’t biblical, it’s Roman, but girls have less biblical names because so many traditional girls names are plants or months. But like 90% of names in English speaking nations are either directly from or a diminutive of a biblical name because people used to just open the book and pick a name of a biblical figure because when you have 13 kids and half of them are gonna die anyway you put less effort into the naming thing

There's something endearing and kind of funny imagining Jesus's brothers and sisters seeing him as a kid doing his Jesus stuff and being like "Jesus, stop it, mom just sent us here to buy food, not whatever it is you're doing"

it gives a lot of new perspective when enjoying any story. Book, video game, any medium really. There are always big or small symbolic connections to bible and the stories and ideas it presents and it's a lot of fun spotting those and seeing where the inspiration was taken. Like the biblically accurate angels are so fucking badass, that's some d&d shit right there.

Most of the people who go to church aren’t at all educated on the Bible lol. Majority of all regular churches just consist of local people who want to read the Bible together. Because almost every church basically makes you read what they specifically want you to read, most people just follow what the churches want to talk about. What’s sad is you can go to the same church for years and literally never learn any real history of the Bible or Christianity. Modern church’s are just for reading little verses and talking about it for 2 and half hours. I’ve tried talking about these topics with ministers who claim things like “there’s only one god” and the proven inaccuracies in translation and they literally NEVER KNOW WTF YOURE TALKING ABOUT. They basically shut you down immediately and just say things like “are you sure you’re reading a genuine Bible🤡” or “I think you misinterpreted what you’re trying to discuss” or they simply get an attitude with you as if you’re trolling them… I literally don’t know anyone who has actually been able to talk about these things with church’s publicly. All though there’s thousands of past minsters who have left their church’s because they purposely don’t want to discuss these things. People who used to own their own church’s leaving cause they can’t deal with the blatant manipulation of the Bible. Church’s are really just a shitty ass book club for the most gullible people in the world. No offense to people who just go to learn about positivity and love, just many people jump into religion with no eduction on it and to me it just seems “ special” lol
