It's actually an unfortunately necessary sacrifice, especially when it came to pitching the game and putting up with the specifications of the game engine. It doesn't make sense, but what else could they do?

As a kid, I was introduced to the Big comfy Couch during a camping trip into the woods. I brought my portable television set so I could watch TV shows while camping at night. Watching channels like Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon was just wishful thinking back then. But I was able to get a few channels like PBS kids and KidsWB. I remember turning on my TV in the middle of a cold night, as darkness loomed around with the howling winds I flipped on my TV and began surfing through static, adjusting the antenna, and eventually finding this... weird show with a girl in clown markings, performing incantations on a giant clock, and communicating to her sentient doll. The next morning, no one knew of the show I had witnessed.

Worst thing, we KNOW a ROM exist, Rare showed more gameplay in a documentary on Rare Replay a few years ago and it was clearly captured using an emulator, the quality was too good to be from an original N64.

A connection between BCC and Capcom few people talk about is that Loonette's actress voiced Claire Redfield in the Resident Evil series up until 2012, and was also responsible for naming the Mavericks in Mega Man X5 after Guns N Roses members in the game's original localization.

It looks like it happened quickly, until you consider that LSSQ's previous video was still created three years after the original Lost Media Wiki forum thread, and a full ten years after it surfaced on Unseen64 at all. It's more that LSSQ's video was uploaded at the time when it was because there was enough substantial information to be fairly certain of its real developer.

So quick, it’s awesome seeing these mysteries solves rather quickly after initial upload dates and interest

Fun Fact: The actress who played Loonette the Clown in The Big Comfy Couch also played Claire Redfield in Resident Evil and was also on Capcom’s localization team, so these games are weirdly kind of connected.

Great job! That Capcom game would have been cool for sure, I'm amazed it included Super Joe.
@CRISHTANG3 жыл бұрын
Part of my concept for the story is that Super Joe would be one of the catalysts for bringing these Capcom worlds together, as he has been present throughout Capcom's history starting from The Speed Rumbler, thru Bionic Commando, as "Joseph Gibson" in Mercs, etc. The design you see here combines those elements, and connects him to being the "Unknown Soldier" in Forgotten Worlds. :)
@imperialzink13653 жыл бұрын

@smittzero84633 жыл бұрын
Well, that was a quick one! I hope Chris finds his old computer so we can find out more about what these games were meant to be Only using four brightly coloured buttons makes a ton of sense for a game aimed at a very young audience. Very smart. I'm not surprised that Power Rangers Legacy was only pitched. Disney wasn't going to pay for such an ambitious game based on a franchise they didn't even want to own, outside of an anniversary year. Still, I'd have played that non-stop if it came out.

Obviously that Capcom game would have been renamed something else, if it would have released, since there already exists a series called Capcom Generations (it was a series of Capcom retro games in a collected volumes).
@CRISHTANG3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was aware of that series of rereleases in Japan and the parallel name was intentional, to make the concept pitch understandable to who we worked with at Capcom Japan - but yes, the final name would have had another word or two added to make it distinct. :)
