Minor thing, but I love how, at 3:46, Mango converts *getting stuck in shine* into a good sequence. It's a nice example of how, for a good player, even doing something dumb isn't as bad as a bad player making the same mistake, because no one expects the good player to make that mistake.

honestly, if you get stuck in shine, ur still pretty safe if you shine again right after. almost everyone does this if they fuck up shield pressure. leffen would've had to read mango getting stuck in shine and roll away or shine out of shield, but if he tries to grab or do anything else he would get hit by the other shine

Mango actually makes a decent amount of technical flubs but he never loses the rhythm of the match, and if you're even slightly slow in capitalizing off his mistakes he will trick you and come out ahead. He's probably the best smasher at playing off of his own mistakes.

Sorry if I'm a bit late replying to this but just wanted to make sure you understand what's happening here as I had this same problem with Falco. The first assumption you made is correct. Mango does Falco's FULL jump as the short hop would not be enough to reach the platform, he jumps (or jump cancels, whatever u wanna call it), then wavelands in place. A few things to keep in mind are 1. Wavelanding in place after the shine isn't always the waveland you should choose. Sometimes (depending on the DI of the opponent, stage, and what you want to do with the shine you just hit), you want to waveland forward or backwards. And 2. This one is if you were having the same problem I was with the shine waveland on platform thing. The trick is to hit your opponent with the top of the shine and Falco still being under the platform. This ensures a smooth waveland. What I used to do was Full Jump and then wait (or be too slow) for Falco to be over the platform, then jump, BUT if Falco is over the plat, then when you jump cancel the shine and want to waveland onto the platform, it will take too long and your opponent will be out of the shine's hitstun by then
