Man, I know some people who built their business with paid shared leads, but I’m not a good fan of that. Not for the fact of the blind bid, because you can explain before the service that if the lawn is overgrown or if you need to take more than X time to complete the service, you will let them know on the first service and there will be an extra charge. I think the real issue is that shared leads is basically a price and speed business war, but the best leads are more interested on your brand: how professional you are, how do you talk to them, how do you position yourself online like website and reviews, but price is secondary. Unless you want to be the cheapest just to get any lead that comes.

Also, those apps sound terrible. Do they not ask qualifying questions and ask for current pictures of the yard? I would think as a user of the app I wouldn't waste my time lying on it since the lawn company has the right to show up and cancel the lawn service if they completely misrepresent the job.

That should be a feature! 100% so on the app, the lawn care company is required to take a picture after the service has been rendered to show proof of work. Just like that the customers requesting the job should be required to upload a picture of the current state of the lawn so that bids can be reflected on that.
