Mbappe is not a top player imo. Or let me break it down more, messi and Ronaldo were way more complete by his age. They obviously got even better by their late 20’s and early 30’s but if I’m looking at Mbappe a technical skills I don’t know what he’ll do in his 30’s or if he gets a bad leg injury that destroys his speed. So yes, he’s like top 5 fastest football players in the world. Barely anyone can catch him in a race. And usually his finishes is pretty good, especially within 15 yards. But, he has no weak foot, he can’t pass, he can’t head the ball, he can’t shoot from far out at a consistent rate, he can’t take freekicks, he can’t cross the ball, he can’t defend, he can’t press. And he really can’t dribble, I’ll be honest being fast and kicking the ball far in front into open space doesn’t mean you can dribble. He literally has no skills and probably won’t develop any non speed related skills. Like let me be honest. Could he work on passing and shooting? Yeah, but will it improve much? I really don’t think so. He’s a one trick pony and I don’t know how people can’t see that. As soon as he comes up against low blocks that are compact he can’t do shit, whether it’s Seria A, La Liga, these defensive teams that are competent or top 8 teams can basically stop him. I mean look at euro league, it was boring defensive football. Mbappe only has 1 goal in the euros. And obviously he did score int he World Cup final. Two being penalties so that’s just whatever, but he scored a volley inside the box. But that’s literally his only skill. Bro has no transferable skills and I’m actually tired that people think he’ll get to the level of Ronaldo or Messi, and people bring up him having a World Cup, and at 18 at that. But are people forgetting the fucking team he had? There’s a concept of spacing in basketball. Good teams using spacing and the way they do so is often by having multiple good players who can be a threat from the 3pt (which would be long shots for football) mid range (which would be inside the box for us), and the rim (which would be near the 5 yard box for us) and that can create spacing since you somehow have to be able to defend the 3 point line, the mid range, and at the rim. France literally had a bunch of good strikers, and players that could take long shots, man to man, that was one of the hardest games to play. So now that France has kinda regressed in terms of goal threats, and that goes the same for Real Madrid, Mbappe is struggling. He doesn’t get spacing from his teammates, and he can’t dribble or shoot like Ronaldo and Messi. Mbappe is a good player, but he isn’t even close to Neymar or hazard, or Salah type of players. Those guys weren’t as fast as Mbappe so they had to have better technical skills to score at such a high rate. Basically Mbappe is a glorified poacher that will basically have to retire if he gets a bad leg injury or when his sped decreases since he has no none speed adjacent skills besides his within 15 yards in the box finishing.

People need to calm down. Even when Ronaldo came to Real Madrid back in 2009 there was hype and there was the very real fear that Madrid's Galacticos 2.0 would fail, but it takes time to gel and Madrid seem to be trying to figure out a new way of playing where their previous stars are now supporting a supposedly bigger star. Even Ronaldo at Real Madrid didn't win his first tophy until 2011 since the team was still trying to find a rhythm that worked, a full two years after signing for them. Give Madrid time and let's see if M'bappe is going to be the next Ronaldo or the next Kaka (a player who was a legend at one club and then lost his touch after moving to Madrid) Ronaldo was able to outshine everyone during his time at Madrid and even the more expensive stars like Gareth Bale who came after him and the team was build around him based on that work, not what or who he was before he came.
