That Gorran guy is exactly what a bass player should be. Glides in with that walking riff, lit cigarette in his strings and a glass of wine in hand. The whole band know he is so tight they can freestyle and jam and always find each other in the music again. Not to mention his voice (as we heard in Wade in the Water) is like Jim Morrison at his peak. Ludicrous talents up there. All of them.

You nailed it. Versatile. That's Ren in a single word. He's completely consumed my listening choices since I heard Hi Ren in January. I mean, he's got a song for every mood! It's insane. You usually have to listen to multiple artists to satiate a musical craving.

No, you are right. He is a big contributory factor to the beautiful harmonies. ... check out the live version of "Swan Song" written by Gorren. Romain's voice is sublime in their original song "Dignity" before it changes to Ren singlng the last part.
