He must had never ran a 620 or 630e tigercat..John deeres are ok tho
@andycobbcobbbroslogging71254 жыл бұрын
Jared Beasley ten 4. Im sure your opinion is the all end to any argument about Skidders can’t say your not The Truth to Skidder performance. But I’ve owned both. Ran both Tigercat and Deers. I will never say anything bad about Tigercats because they are A no 1 machines on any peice of iron with their name on them. They are probably the most durable machines ever put in the woods in my opinion. They perform in any type of situation or harvest they are in. But to say a L2 machine is less than a L I , I don’t understand what you mean Son. Sorry Bros I meant. I’m 55 yrs old and don’t mean to say Son. The guy driving mine has ran both also. The L2 has still got to prove itself over time. No doubt time will only tell. But I do know this. I have 3 Deere loaders. The one I run has over 18000 hours and is still so fast it is hard to hold wide open on the throttle I have maintained it and it’s tight and dry. I’m not someone to do any stats on because I keep a backup for every machine I have besides my processor and when I need to work or do maintenance on a machine I don’t have to do a nascar pit stop on it to fix it right. And I know that’s not the norm in the woods or logging world today. I have a skidder with 16500 hours on it with Deere on the emblem. I have a 643 K that cuts fine that is 8 years old. They are not running hard every day because they are backups. Got a Deere 853 M 3 Deere Skidders , Processor and Dozer. Son the Deere name is as good as any to a owned. But when called on we never loose time because Deere is on them. And we move 120 plus loads a week. I’ve been doing this since I was 10 years old. Had my own crew for 32. And Deere has been there for me and my dealer has backed us up like no other I have dealt with. Yes , I’m a unique situation. I know that. But I do know that when taken care of , and run properly, you can make a good living with these machines. There are other factors in machines than somebody saying a L2 is not as good as a L one Or as good as a 620 or 630. Get real Do you own a skidder? Maybe you think I’m full of BS. I don’t mean to make you feel like I’m Mr Logging God Bros. I’m Not. But my bank acc is what shows if you can make money Logging. And I’m good , and Deere has helped me get there. No matter what brand of machine you run you can be very successful if you have dealer support with them. I really don’t think there is enough difference between a Deere, Tigercat, or Caterpillar if you are supported by the dealer. Every year when the new models come out from each, they all change to what the others do better than them. That’s just how it is with logging equipment with the Big 3 these days. Take care Jared. I know you may just be yanking on TJL. That’s cool.

We’ve been looking into trying an 848L2. wanted another 630 but tidewater still ain’t taking any trades due to an overload of used inventory, and Deere is. so we might buy one different. I just demoed a 748 2 months ago and it was a beast itself for what it is. The 8 is just more close to the 630. should stay on the ground better with a grapple full.
@CuttingEdgeLogging_Thomas4 жыл бұрын
Only problem we have with our 848 is it trying to go in the ground when it’s wet. It’s wayyyy stronger than a 630 too.
@andycobbcobbbroslogging71254 жыл бұрын
jacob carter It is strong TJ. I have a 948 L a 848 H and just bought a 748L 11. Yal know , horsepower is like sex. You always want more, and feel like you never get enough. But in TJs application he needs light machine, quick Hydraulics. Smart Buy. I have different machines for different reasons. The 9 will make long drags with huge piles and is good for me on the long drags. The 7 will not drag as big a pile like the 9 but it is light and quick. Both of them have good qualities. That’s why they don’t just make one model. And different dealers can do different things for loggers. Sometimes one is more helpful than the other. It’s hard to make a decision on 300 K. I hope you are successful and happy with your chose. Time will tell Jacob. AC

Great video. I sure did guess right on last night video on what the surprise was. Very nice skidder. Are you going to hard face the grapple for more grip and less wear and tear on the grapple? Is the grapple solid or is it hollow? It sure would have been funny if you had an old cable skidder come in to your job site about 15 minutes before the new one showed up. I just wonder what Michaels reaction would be to the cable skidder. Can a grapple skidder winch be set up like a cable skidder winch with all the main line slides and keyholes for the choker chains to hook up to? Or why do they put a winch on grapple skidders? Watch out for those copperheads and water moccasins. The 1st thinning that you did looks great across the road. Wow I'm surprised the loader is not sunk past the bumper right now. Thanks Mickey for showing us that. The ground is almost like jello. Is there a mat under Mickey's loader? Great video
