"If you're like me, first, my condolences" 😂 I always appreciate your willingness to take the piss out of both yourself as well as this objectively stupid hobby we all somehow got sucked into. I happen to own that "very famous" dive watch that doesn't have bezel markings every minute. Not for that reason of course, but I have considered on more than one occasion selling it to fund a purchase of this SeaQ Panorama Date. The two things giving me the most pause would be that polished bracelet, as well as the lack of ADs in my area. There is only one GO AD local to me, and it's a shop where I did not have a very good experience the first time I visited. Fantastic review as always. I come for the watch shots, but I stay for the humor.

I, too, am "one of those people" - and as such I adore my SeaQ Pano! The case design masks the thickness extremely well on wrist, and the (in my case, blue) dial is immensely rewarding in all light conditions. Entertaining review, as always!! 🙌

I just bought this in black dial form two months ago to finish up my diver collection. I did not realize how much I would love this watch! It has wrist presence in spades but is remarkably comfortable. I have the Fifty Fathoms by Blancpain, but the SeaQ I wear much more often. I have the Omega SMP 300 and a Submariner but this is another lever size wise. Here is the best thing, you can wear this and literally no one knows what the heck it is. Which makes me feel safer wearing it and opens up for great conversation. Your review is spot on and you are right, it checks so many boxes for someone who love big dive watches it becomes the most awesome timepiece you own which is basically how I feel about my SeaQ.

I love this brand as a proud Panomaticlunar owner. I feel they're one of a few companies that offers a fantastic product with interesting designs at a 'reasonable' (for luxury watches) price. This aesthetic doesn't quite do it for me but if they release a non-dive sports watch I'll be very tempted to sell my only other watch to buy another GO

Love mine. I went steel and gold with the grey dial and it's absolutely the best dive watch I've ever experienced. A minor added point Mr Terrific, didn't mention: no normies will ever notice this thing. You can rest assured that if someone in the coffee line says "nice watch!", they are a watch person. I've had flex/hype bois notice my Sea Dweller and chat me up about it. Not fun. I've had people notice my GO and we have a great chat about watches in general and GO in particular. Not a reason to buy a watch, but a great added benefit.
@TheBlindSkwerl2 жыл бұрын
This is why my collection has Zenith and Sinn but doesn't have Rolex. People that know those brands are watch enthusiasts, people that know Rolex are typically more about the hype and flex. I want to strike up a conversation with the person that knows Gruebel Forsey and Orient, not the one that knows you could sell your watch for xxxxx dollars.

Superb review. Love the self deprecation, too. I own the SeaQ 39.5mm Reed Green, and though it's technically nowhere nearly as advanced as the Panorama Date, I absolutely love its design and execution. And it wears perfectly on my 7 inch wrist. If I wanted a larger luxury "dive" watch, I'd probably look at the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Titanium. Same diameter of 43mm, but with a lug to lug of 49.5mm and a mere 13.4mm thickness in spite of its 100 hours of power reserve. Impressive. Would love your thoughts on it if ever you can get your hands on one.

A little late to the game but I have a SeaQ Pano in blue with a bracelet. I've had it for over a year and it is my go to watch, over my Sub, and Planet Ocean. Only watch people will know what it is and unlike Rolex, I don't see them everywhere. It's also the most accurate watch I own. I have 7 5/8" wrists so the size is perfect. I'm in my 60's and the large date is also a plus. Does anyone need a luxury dive watch... no but neither do they need a Porsche or Ferrari.

I can confirm. Even here in Germany the brand is an underdog and the blue model for example can be purchased for under 10k (Euro) which makes it much more relevant comparing with the 'other famous dive watch' which is just around 1,5k less (retail). Even not minding the availability of the latter this makes the decision much more easier imho.

Great review. Very interesting to see it on your wrist - like the (half price!) Planet Ocean, it does wear smaller. But thick. Dude, thicker than a Sea-Dweller! It's a beautiful watch and the quality movement, build, testing and certification make it worth the price. But there are some things I can't get my head around. Mainly the polished bracelet that looks like it came off a different watch. I mean, brushed lugs and polished end links? Eh? As if GO are trying to make up for the charming/crude, my first wristwatch, GUB dial. But, a watch with great character.

I purchased the 39.5 in blue with the fully brushed bracelet - so this years model. Compared to my GMT Master 2, this watch is more visually interesting, finished to a significantly higher level, and has a dial with a personality that dances in the changing light conditions. In indoor lighting the dial looks almost black so a very good watch for business suits, boardroom meetings. On a time graph it is more accurate than my GMT Master in all six positions - so better than +/- 2 seconds/day. What I like most is that the watch is understated. People will only know what it is if they are very close to you. I do believe GO has a mainstream winner with this watch and will steal a good amount of market share from Rolex when Rolex owners look for another watch. I was going to wait and hope for a black dial in 39.5mm with white indices but i did not want to take the chance that i would miss out on the blue dial. Purchased through an AD.

I don't really understand the "price shock" aspect. I would argue that this (and most GO's) actually represents a tremendous value with regard to finishing and high end watchmaking. The detail of this watch is on a completely different level than a Sub and no one complains about sticker shock for a Submariner. This GO is available regularly discounted from AD's , which puts it very close to the price of the Sub (I was offered 15% without asking the other day). Yes the Rolex carries more brand cachet, resell value, and status, but GO is the better watch for the same price for those who appreciate higher end horology. (Don't freak everyone...I love Rolex, just talking about watch for the dollar).

I was between the Rolex Submariner Date and the SeaQ Panorama Date. I really want to choose this watch because of how beautiful it looks, but its thickness and the diameter being too big makes it difficult for me to commit. I already own a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, and I seriously dislike how thick it is. Since this watch is even thicker, I’ll pass on it for now until Glashütte releases a thinner version with a smaller diameter maybe like 39.5 or 40 max
