Avril also had something called Lyme Disease for a long time and this could’ve affected her throat, given it gives flu like symptoms. I know we are talking about her voice even before Lyme disease, but I personally feel she just got older and and entered another chapter of her life which made her change and she doesn’t sound that much different to me. Don’t think the theory is true but it’s fun to think so! Haha

I performed a deep dive into this issue. After years of exhaustive study, it is my conclusion that she just got older. Amazing that some people have that ability. I mean how many people do you know that get older over time? I know that I stopped aging when I turned 21, 34 years ago. I haven’t changed a bit since then. 😂

I'm not sure how much this effects professional singers but things Ike fatigue would have to effect the singing voice when trying to hold longer notes etc. Being short of breathe typicalybyou would constrict a little makingvsure that your timing is on beat with the rythm as fucking that up is more noticeable to the audience than a little tone shift in the sound... Avril Lavigne has even stated publicly how much she is hurt by that theory too. Like, imagine being a teen and forced to meet all these new people 24/7 - honey, I’d be super grouchy and not want to be touched too. Also, about her singing voice, dude she sounds happy. Before she sounded so tired and it didn’t have much vibrato. I feel like she’s taken some singing lessons and is finally happy to just be able to walk after being sick from Lyme Disease for so long. Same goes with her handwriting, apparently she was bedridden for ~2 years… I’m sure she wasn’t writing a lot during that time and had to relearn a bit. People change, she got older and she’s stepping away from her usual alternative. I was a huge fan of her growing up and, though I haven’t listened to her music now, it’s horrible that people would make such a theory.

If you know music, you’ll also notice that she sometimes plays 1/2 step down, and when her voice was shot from pre-polyp surgery, she performed many of her songs a full step down. She stopped by to play with my brothers band, and she was incredibly gifted, and shared a voice doctor that my brother used after his vocal chord surgery. Surgery changes your voice, makes it higher - THATS A FACT. Smoking weed changes your voice in seconds. Caffeine can change your vocals along with a whole mess of things. There is also a HUGE chance that she didn’t have a vocal coach until she had surgery, and if you ever studied music, WILL CHANGE TOUR VOICE. Listen to Nirvana acoustic vs live vs recording studio. Singers voices definition change over time. They also will sing in different keys as they get older to save it instead belting out all the time. Many have lost the ability to sing period from never adjusting. Especially old rockers. I went to see Def Leppard two years ago and Joe Elliot's voice is shot. She’s an artist, of course she switched up her sound as she developed as a performer. Maybe her label told her to pitch it up. Also, I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve changed my handwriting over the years. I even change it up depending on my mood. Lastly, of course features are going to change and look different with normal growth, lighting, makeup, photoshop, etc. It’s just a big fat stretch to me.

She's alive. Her grandfather passed away which was extremely hard for her. She actually completely turned around and sings Christian rock and stuff now.
