The start of the pilot shows an old game menu that goes from pixelated and lowly rendered to far higher quality as it zooms in, I'd assume to show that we're going to be seeing what the characters see, so the polished style they chose seems fine imo. All of the designs take heavy inspiration from old 90s things, or even earlier than that (i.e. Ragatha). Zooble was inspired by Zolo toys (which also originated from that era), and they also aren't necessarily a self insert, Gooseworx just likes triangle heads lol. It's true that not many of the characters fit the circus theme, but they're allowed to use more than just one theme for their show. The computers and VR headsets shown later in the pilot are also very outdated, which could probably mean the characters lived in the 90s- too before they got transported into the game, which would also reinforce the themes the characters take. If Gooseworx enjoys those aesthetics, and the show happens to be set in an era with those aesthetics, I think it's fine and makes sense that she's leaning into that. It _is_ her show. But even then, I'm sure we'll see more characters later in the show that instead lean into the circus stuff, since we only have one episode right now. I think a reason why the environment they're in is so simple (having only 3 locations mentioned excluding the void), and rooms may seem empty at times could be because it's not actually finished, e.g. the exit Caine was working on. The void itself is another example, and the characters could also very well be beta testers for the game. I might be reaching, but we won't know for now because _it's a pilot._ The show also isn't horror, especially not mascot horror. If you were suddenly transported into a place completely unlike the one you're used to, naturally, you'd be terrified and existential, so it makes sense they'd have that in there as well. (Mainly referring to another comment:) I do agree that the character personalities are all very common and we've seen them a lot elsewhere, but again, _it is just a pilot right now_ and I'm sure they'll have some character growth and turn out to be more unique. It's too early to tell.

And if you think it's unoriginal, I'm not sure why you're also saying they should take more inspiration from (or recreate; 2:59) Ena and Popee's style. That would just make it more so, and would probably have ended up as another critique you give in this video. It's its own series.

omg finally some actually good points, I really appreciate your time into commenting on this stupid video i made and giving some good context into the whole show. Even with having all of this in mind (what you just said) I do believe her choice of going from pixilated to high quality rendered was cool at first but it slowly got boring and I would've prefer a more game/pixilated/low poly design than a polished render (again that's just what i would've prefer aka opinion) As for the characters, If the title mentions circus I'm expecting a big amount of circus theme characters than just 3. Like you said its just a pilot so of course there will be more characters once the series is being released. they are obviously allowed to go out of the circus theme. but the biggest issue I have with how they went with this is how this almost feels like a toy story type of show specially with raggatha, jax and zooble. Gangle with a few edits would definitely fit the show. I also feel like gooseworx missed the point of her aesthetic, Like how can you go from "90s era" video game computer vibe to having everything like a playground/daycare. That's what I don't understand. If they were going for the 90s they should've gone for the 90s game aesthetic not toys and daycare??????? it doesn't make sense at all and for doing that aesthetic that's shes doing shes appealing more to kids than her preferred audience which are teens. You definitely hit the nail when it comes to the environment of TADC, that I completely understand on why it looks so spacious and empty but aesthetic/style wise it looks extremely tacky and daycare like. That's another main issue I have. If we are going for game computer vibe I'm expecting something more obscure and uncanny than a kids playground. As for the genre, a lot of people have been saying that "its not horror/mascot horror" but I believe it does fit the criteria of it being a mascot horror. Not necessarily being "scary" but just the fact that is a show has an appearance of it being a children's show but its in fact deeper/darker than that automatically makes it a mascot horror. It also doesn't necessarily need to be "kids character gone mad/evil" Just the style and the characters makes it also a mascot horror. but whatever you can call it whatever you want, i felt like calling it mascot horror would make sense but if it doesnt for u thats fine too. final note: this video was just to share my opinion, I do understand it being mediocre rant but this is just primarily a test on how to make yt videos and just something fun to try. I won't personally do more videos like these because like other ppl said I don't really have the epic knowledge to critique it when it comes to the story. I can only talk about the appearance of the show because i'm an artist and I can say what i don't find appealing visual wise and thats what I did. I will also not take this video so seriously/personal since its again just a test and just an opinion. anyways thank you so much for commenting on my video I had fun reading your feedback

​@@draxonified i forgor to answer this but i mainly showed ENA & Popee as an example because they already fit their own aesthetics, which is what is lacking from TADC. I personally wouldn't call nor care if TADC was an actual copycat from ENA and Popee, if its a good execution I would be incredibly happy because it means something more to watch that's similar as ENA & Popee. as for it being its own series, they definetly could've been their own series even if they went with similar approach as ENA & Popee, mainly because of the story and genre that are different from one another.

tfw spooky children's media is my favorite horror trope LOL but I do like some of the points you bring up!! Especially with some characters feeling a little out of place for a circus themed video game adaptation. I hope we get to see more things unfold as the series goes along! i hate tadc as much as the next person but WOW this entire rant was really really bad, i love ur art and stuff but some constructive criticism i have for this video is u dont rlly seem like you know what youre talking about. ruling out characters for being "unoriginal" and then suggesting to redo the shows graphics to look like another show is hypocrisy at its finest i feel like this video shouldve gone more into depth about the story instead of just the graphics because honestly? the graphics are pretty original as compared to a lot of other shows on yt all in all this is an admittedly bad rant, i agree with you that YES tadc is ass but not for the reasons you listed here. imo its more because it has bland characters (oh jax mean sassy and ragatha is mother figure blah blah weve seen it all before) and bland storyline

it's just a pilot lol? ur complaining about small things that are just things you don't like and not problems at all, ur comparing artstyles and other shows for no reason. tadc is their own show, they didn't want a weirdcore or horror aesthetic at ALL like ena so there was no point comparing them? i don't see any issues with having self inserts in shows and there's also no issues with having simple character designs, imo the characters are creative and fit great into the show

i understand your opinion, but this is also a pilot, it will probably get better overtime (not saying its bad i love it) and like with the background and the colors im pretty sure they were going for like a 2009 type game or sum like that. and the characters, i like them. gangle is probably the weakest out of them and kinger being the best in my opinion.. kinger has supposedly been there the longest and it shows, he is pretty much insane and his cutoffs are very funny, with zooble i like her design of her being a a whole bunch of random things put together like the gloinks or something like that. ragatha is pretty cool as well. jax.. overrated. (not saying i dont like him but..) pomni pretty cool. caine also funny. bubble is funny too. i also agree with you and their personalities but from twitter zooble and jax are in their 20s so i think i understand why they are so laid back unlike ragatha and kinger who are in their 30s and 40s i think? sorry this didnt make any sense i was kinda half asleep watching and making this

@@6hitpoints HII i get what u mean but i never said TADC is a copycat of popee the preformer, I only said Gangle is a copycat of kedamono not the series as a whole. the reason why I added popee the preformer as an example is because its a show that its main theme is circus, which is what TADC was going for but its still lack even tho they are actively referencing from popee the preformer. I wouldn't personally call TADC a copycat if they did in fact follow popee the preformer's style of comedy/circus theme since TADC is also adding psychological drama. BTW this video was just a test into making yt vids so i wouldnt take it so personal/serious since its just me giving out my opinion.

Not to mention, and no offence still cause I came on here to listen to opinions, I dislike the term of things not being original.. or overdone I guess? I mostly saw this in a comment as well, and I 100% understand if a certain trope doesn’t appeal to you but in 2023 it feels a bit like Originality is kinda Dead.. like everything cool has been done by Someone, and there’s almost always something to compare a new thing to, (one of the many reasons I struggle with my writing and trying to learn and not get discouraged) heck, Thomas Sanders spoke about this issue. I’m sure there’s gotta be Something that hasn’t been done and I just don’t know it.. but the moment a new thing that seems awesome gets discovered people grab for it. I personally like the scenery cause yeah, everything that’s out of place makes me think. Doesn’t it add a sense of randomness? All the craziness and colours everywhere? And the digital circus, as said, is a place to be enjoyed by All Ages.. it’s gonna look like a children’s playground. Also, this specific point had to actually be taught To me and burned into my head, and I still feel anxious on the idea of this but inspiration is Fine. The idea is completely copying something then calling it Yours, that’s bad. Speaking as a fan, and someone who’s watched a looottt of the same movies and overdone tropes and shows of a similar calibre, I think it’s fine, especially considering it’s ONE EPISODE IN.. also same thing applies to the idea that KZbin shows are overdone.. maybe cause they’re getting popular and people would rather make their own small production than work for another’s and not be able to fully own their own work/ideas?

Goos video! I noticed everyone here had some good points too! I always felt that the digital circus was realistically rendered for my taste. It did bother me for some time, but I have adapted to it. I think The Amazing Digital Circus is amazing (especially the music) but I do understand it can do a lot better.

the video is great but I wish I never found it, because of the comments. I hate digital circus for these reasons and more, and I KNOW glitch can do better in their pilots because of the Murder Drones pilot, that pilot actually looks like a finished project with passion behind it. So the commenter's argument of "it is just a pilot" is meaningless, plus, the amount of time this pilot took to make was plenty of time to improve visuals, it is the poor stylistic choices, not the fact that it is a pilot. And to those who say "Digital circus isn't even horror" you are wrong. This show is existential horror at its worst. so that is two of their MANY meaningless complaints done, I could go on and on, but that would be a waste of time just for these nine-year olds to respond without reasoning. (you know who you are, stop trying to defend this show.) p.s. don't bother arguing, it is a waste of both of our time.

FACTS OMGGGG its so disappointing cuz every lil preview about it seemed so fucking good and when the pilot came out i was like meh :/ BTW I HAD A BIT OF HOPE THAT IT WAS JUST THE PILOT THAT WAS MEDIOCRE but the 2nd episode is even worse 😭 it was incredibly underwhelming and boring, the only good part was the gummy crocodile npc 😭 just when things were getting interesting THEY KILL HIM? I get that its a joke but like 😭 it just shows the wasted potential they have…. Thank you so much for your comment a lot of ppl were very dumb into commenting excuses on why the pilot is “good” i mostly unprivated cuz of the new episode cuz i thought my mind was gonna change when the episode comes out but it did not so 😭 my point still stands
